Bush Home

Even with the GOP convention nearly two months away, some in the Republican party are already worrying about how to handle the presence of President Bush, who is scheduled to speak on the opening night of the event, the New York Times reports:

This year, of course, Mr. McCain is trying to escape from Mr. Bush's shadow. Most Republicans say Mr. Bush should play whatever role Mr. McCain wants him to. Some, like Representative Dana Rohrabacher of California, simply wish Mr. Bush would keep out of it, though few would say so openly.

"I don't think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention," said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president "should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off."

Even with the GOP convention nearly two months away, some in the Republican party are already worrying about how to handle the presence of President Bush, who is scheduled to speak on the opening nigh...

Not only should Bush go to the convention, it should be mandatory that he be there! The Republicans deserve all the negative press and guilt by association that his appearance will earn. The more they continue to parade their collective hate around as phony patriotism the better. All of America (and the entire world) needs to be reminded exactly what these people are about and why it is they are going to be thrown of office with all the grace and dignity of a pro-wrestling match. In a similar way the Republicans should be compelled to run Bush out onto the convention floor and let his loyal supporters come forward, slap him on the back and tell him what a great job he has done. The entire world needs to see this display of mass political negligence and just how much denial these people can embrace before their gall bladders burst. I for one am looking forward to the convention in Minneapolis. The depths these people will stoop to engender hate, fear, racial polarization and faith-based lunacy must be seen for what it is. Read anything by the neo-cons as they spew right now and it is clear they still do not feel any remorse or introspection over the disaster these last seven plus years has been.

I find it incredible that it took the Republican Party this long to come to the conclusion that they had an incompetent fool at the helm. I would say better late than never, except that it's too late. The damage has been done.

And what damage. It's "the rest of my life" damage. It's "succeeding generations' future" damage. It's "one trillion dollars BORROWED to pay for a war that no one has made provision one for how to pay back" damage. It's "shattered economy, ruined public education, broken healthcare, reduced civil and human rights, thwarted energy reform, disintegrating infrastructure, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, hegemonic, xenophobic, torturing, terrorizing - yes I'm using the "t" word - 'crusading' (his word not mine) GOD SPEAKS TO ME" damage.

Nothing that I just listed is hyperbolic. It's all incontrovertible fact.

And in the face of ALLLLLL of that, McCain and Obama are virtually tied, Rush Limbagh signs a $400M contract and Fox News regains its position as the number one watched news source in the United States.

Would anyone care to venture a guess as to why this is?

That the MSM is trying to make a contest out of this event that will be

worse than Reagan VS Carter or a young Mike Tyson VS any chump,

is not to sell ad time or increase ratings. It is to do what investments

made by the MIC since Vietnam intended to accomplish w/ the press.

When Reagan's appointees in the FCC declared the Fairness Doctrine

as unconstitutional, as if they were SCOTUS, that opened the doors to

Hate Radio and Propaganda TV. Those who appeal to our worst nature

have found that fear and loathing sell extremely well as infotainment.

None of this has been by accident, there are intended consequences!!

It is part of the Bush crime family's generational passion for FASCISM!!!

100% correct. We need to stop this now if we still can. They will stop at nothing- they even have to make contact with their friends in Columbia to see what they can cook up in totally extra-legal ways.

The American people sealed their faith when they Ok'ed embarking on blind killing and mayhem of innocent people following 9/11 instead of truly understanding as why 9/11 happened. There are consequences.

This is how little respect the GOP has for its base.
The GOP actually thinks if they keep the AWOL Coward from the convention, their mouth breathing Creationist base will forget all about Bush's disastrous regime!
You know something; the GOP is probably on to something here.
We all know that your average 'Loyal Bushy' ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer so this "out of sight, out of mind" strategy just might work!

Real American's work is now clear.
We have to make sure that the GOP is unsuccessful in their attempt to isolate AWOL Bush, WAR DEFERMENTS Cheney and PRESIDENT Rove from the GOP!
The GOP has always been masters of pawning off their messes onto others.
Not this time traitors!

I'd be happy to see Dana Rohrbacher stay home. And, perhaps, be out of a job come January.

I am sure they would prefer that. No bush- no bad brand. I think he should be making himself as visible as possible. Since he is the leader of their party, no?

Not only do I think he should go to the convention but he should get up and make one of the most incoherent and stuttering speeches ever, ending with jokes about WMDs and watch the rethug crowd stand, cheer and clap.

Bush may be unpopular. He may be losing in Iraq. Heck he may even lose in Afghanistan. But he has won every major fight with the Democrat Congress. The latest being FISA, now backed by the Democrat nominee!

wrong..

Bush has the benefit of an almost perfectly split house and senate. If he didnt have repub support, nothing he wanted would have happened. The repubs have been playing 2nd fiddle to him for 7 years, and now they are seeing the results of that appeasement, loss of seats.

Get ready for 20 years of Dems, with universal healthcare, retracted military, enhanced education, a solvent soc. sec. system, fair taxation, environmental stewardship and quite possibly some respect from the rest of the world.

And its easy to understand why Obama might want to veer a bit centrist towards the election. He isn't going to lose his liberal dem base...who else are they going to vote for, nader? NOT THIS TIME AROUND...

I want him retired to Baghdad, maybe set up in one of Saddam's palaces.....he can arise every morning and survey his kingdom. Enjoy the view, maybe stir it up with some locals and dodge bombs.
He could room with Cheney and Rumsfiend.

Sounds like a plan to me.

When AWOL Bush's regime mercifully comes to and end this January, I bet the AWOL Coward leaves American for good.
AWOL Bush knows that everybody in America hates his guts now.
Heck, even his owners in corproate America are turning their backs on that crummy little Crawford toady!
Who knows...maybe Dubai will take him.
He and Michael Jackson can be neighbors that is unless Mr. Jackson can get a petition signed to keep the AOWL Coward out of their gated community.
Sure Mr. Jackson has a checkered past but at least he ain't a mass murderer like AOWL Boy!
Even Dubai has its standards.
AWOL Bush has always been a man without a brain...now he can be a man without a country too!

I'm an old guy who learned in grade school that 'America doesn't attack other countries.' I spent most of my life believing that simple truth. For me, it was a simple belief that set America apart from almost all other countries. Then, near the eve of the invasion of Iraq, I had a visitor from out-of-town. A man slightly older than me. A retired Air Force pilot and a Vietnam veteran. As we watched CNN that evening all the talk was of the pending "Shock-and-Awe". We were talking and expressing our misgivings. Our sense of foreboding. My friend said to me, "If we invade Iraq it will fundamentally change who we are as a people." His words have haunted me. They have echoed in my mind these past several years.

Folks, the question is not whether George Bush should speak at the Republican convention. The question is, why isn't he in prison? The man threw away 227 years of moral leadership that many Americans gave their blood for, that most Americans cherished deeply. If his actions don't amount to a "High Crime" then there is no such thing as a high crime.

It really doesn't matter all that much if Bush or Cheney show or don't show at that Convention. The GOP brand is so tarnished you just can't wash it clean. You need only see any Reupblican Senator, Congress person, or cabinet member and you feel sick and are reminded of the lies and corruption and damage to our country.

Rice recently reiterated how proud she was about Iraq. The convention would be the perfect venue to have every one of the war criminals make their revisionist statements, have the audience cheer, and then spend the rest of the convention reliving great moments. Unless of course, they recognize they are little more than war criminals, themselves.

How about this? Have maybe half of the critically maimed service men and women (about 15,000) come on stage and each one tell the happy conventioners, Bush, Rice, McCain, Rumsfeld. Petreus, etc. how there severe injury happened and how they plan to spend the rest of their lives in wheelchairs or beds or stretchers. Also let the wives, husbands and children speak too. We all know that Bush really doesn't give a hairy rats ass about these thousands of brave American Service people. The important thing is that Sadam is now in Hell. Oh, praise President Bush for all the wonderful, caring, important things he and his cronies have accomplished in the last 71/2 years. Lets have more of the same. OK McBush?

The GOP:
The party of Free Speech ZONES.
The party of Tax Cut for billionaires while this nation fights wars in two seperate countries.
The party unable to find bin Laden.
The party unable to find the anthrax attackers.
The party who bails out their failing corporate campaing contributors with our tax dollars.
The party who sends your kids to war while theirs stay safe and sound state-side.
The party who has driven America's good name into the mud.

Who knows, maybe AWOL Bush is staying away from the RNC because he has finally grown a heart and brain and now correctly sees the GOP as the terror state they've always been.
