Where's Alberto Gonzales?

There's a new game that can be played in DC, and it's called "Where In The World Is Alberto Gonzales." On Wednesday he published an op-ed in The LA Times on the very subject he managed to malign more than support: equality. The Washington Post's, Al Kamen, looks into other activities Gonzales - aka Fredo - has taken part in since he left the Justice Department almost a year ago.

First he popped up at Friday night's baseball game between the Nats and the O's. Next thing you know, he's in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday as an op-ed columnist.

So, is this the beginning of an Alberto R. Gonzales re-emergence in public, 10 months after he resigned from a somewhat-less-than-successful 2 1/2 -year tenure as attorney general? Is there a job announcement coming?

forget where and ask when will he realize he has no one who wants him and no skills - however a book deal telling all about the illegalities of his tenure with his "best friend" would certainly be an interesting and perhaps lucrative career move

History suggests that he will eventually become a darling of the right like Gordon Liddy, Oliver North and UpChuck Colson. If Ann Coulter can routinely pay homage to Tailgunner Joe McCarthy then the right can conveniently revise the history associated with Gonzo.

While Clear Channel prepares a microphone, I see Dean of Regent or Liberty Law School in the near future. In the alternative, he could always end up with a pretentious academic title at AEI. Even John "Mengele" Yoo is teaching law.

It is impossible to shame a Republican.

It doesn't matter how despicable their actions. Convictions for crimes even prison time won't do it.

They will crawl out from under the rocks and tell the rest of us how to live and what to think.

I thought perhaps he'd run off with Laura Bush who, after a brief command appearance at her daughter's wedding, also seems to be pretty much missing.

it is interesting how she's made herself scarce the past year or so. kinda gives the Star and other rags some credibility with their "LAURA WANTS DIVORCE - Husband Falls off the Wagon" headlines that we saw there at the checkouts for a while.
Also explains other blog here today where GOP is angry that Bush can only handle kids South lawn games anymore. He was also scarce for a while (around the time of the headlines, actually) and now that he's back his activities DO include a lot less stress.

I think we all should chip in and give him a free vacation to Europe. He could see some historic places like the Hague. What I wonder is why the LA Times would ask this guys opinion on anything? The LA Times use have credibility, but with this news I must rethink my opinion.

I'm pleased to see that others share my favorite fantasy of justice at last for Alberto Gonzoles. I would love for him to discover just how quaint the Geneva Conventions really are.

To think this guys was probably almost nominated to be on the Supreme Court. Had he been, this Congress would have seen fit to do it to.
