I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Inconenient

The pool report on Friday from the Obama press corps revealed an interesting tidbit: Davis Guggenheim, the director of An Inconvenient Truth, is making a (seemingly secret) documentary about Barack Obama that will apparently air at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Col. next month.

Here's the report:

After your poolers pulled away from Montana Technical College, home of the Diggers, at around 5:20, the bus made its way up toward old, historic Butte and pulled up to the Clark Chateau Museum, a mansion from Butte's glory days.

The pool was told repeatedly that Sen. Obama was merely doing a video shoot for the campaign's new media department, a routine operation. But Aliesh, hired by Essence to do makeup, tipped your pool off that Obama was accompanied by a famous film maker, as part of a film shoot for the Democratic National Committee and the convention. Obama entered the mansion at 5:45. He re-emerged at 6:43, with a stylish film maker in tow and a crew carrying a film camera, NOT the small digital cameras.

Jen Psaki still maintains nothing is abnormal, but the filmmaker is Davis Guggenheim, the Academy Award-winning director of An Inconvenient Truth. His father, four-time Academy Award winner Charles Guggenheim, chronicled John F. Kennedy. Credit Kim Chipman from Bloomberg with her brilliant Googling prowess.

Davis Guggenheim spoke briefly to your pooler before realizing he shouldn't be. He then said he was merely traveling with his son in Montana and doing some interviews. He promised to speak more after he consulted with the campaign. More TK.

If this isn't proof that "global warming" is a political issue, then i don't know what else will.

We know you're reviewing at least one movie here that you haven't seen (because it isn't finished).

I'm betting you're 2 for 2.

You pride yourself as a centrist, but on global warming you're obviously buying the extreme right wing mantra that you should trust the petroleum industry "scientists" rather than every (over 400) peer reviewed papers ever published on the subject.

Did you also believe the tobacco CEO's when they testified that cigarettes aren't addictive and don't cause cancer?

Obama is modifying or abandoning nearly every position on the issues he has held throughout the campaign. He isn"t veering to the center, he"s maneuvering to the right of McCain. FISA, NAFTA, gun control, capital punishment for child rape, flag pins, Jerusalem et cetera et cetera,

Why does this surprise you? Mr. Obama has shown, repeatedly, that whatever works politically for him is the position he will ascribe to at the moment.
Witness: Reverend Wright, Trinity Church, His Grandmother; you may add more as you like.
This willingness to change positions between the nomination process and the general election is not unique to Mr. Obama. This behaviour has been standard practice for candidates of both major parties for decades.

what is amazing is that everyone likes to ignore the fact that mccain has switched on almost all major positions to do what is political convienent for him. lets see the evidence:

---in 2001 and 2003 mccain was one of the few repubclians opposing the bush tax cuts because he believed his unfairly favored the rich. "I just thought it was too tilted to the wealthy, and I still do," mccain told a member of the editorial board of the wall streat journal. but things have changed and now, and mccain now likes the tax cuts, even stating that he would like to make the tax cuts permanent rather than have them expire.

---in 2005 he, along with senator edward kennedy supported legislation that would give the pathway for an estimated 12 million immigratns for citizenship. now mccain states that if the bill ever came up for vote again, he would vote against it.

---On social security in 2004: "Without privatization, I don"t see how you can possibly, over time, make sure that young Americans are able to receive Social Security benefits." In 2008: "I"m not for, quote, privatizing Social Security. I never have been. I never will be."

this is getting tiring, here are some more:

TROLL ALERT!!!

Check out the profile. One day supporting Hillary, the next day telling the Clinton's to get out of town. Always stirring the pot and spamming the same RNC talking points, over and over again, all over this site.

Flag pins? Flag pins? You're complaining about Obama flip flopping on flag pins? The only thing worse than an intellectual dishonesty is intellectual dishonesty from a Rethug troll.

CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS! ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS USE TO FOOTAGE FROM OBAMA'S WEBSITE, LIKE THE VIDEO OF BARACK TALKING TO HIS TEAM AFTER HE WRAPPED UP THE NOMINATION.

Make sense and drop the caps, sparky.

Now Guggenheim is making "A Convenient Untruth"
Campaign Finance Reform' wiretapping, Jerusalem flip flop., Israe palestine 2 State Solution,Nafta, Faith Based Initiative, hand guns..and more to come.
All these things that Mr. Change- I -am -not - like -any -other -politician - conveniently LIED about until he was the nominee..
All we need nowis the return of Reverend Wright..
And all those swooning Obama fiends are still drinking the kool aid.
Wake UP guys.
I am a lifelong Liberal Democrat and this is a very weak candidate who is not nearly ready for prime time

If you were really a "lifelong Liberal Democrat" instead of some sort of troll, you would either support our presumptive nominee or stay silent rather than echo Republican talking points. Insulting us Democrats who freely choose to support Obama with enthusiasm doesn't win you any points, either.

This is going to be great. Obama's one of the most personable and charismatic political figures in American history. The more people get to know him and his family, the better off for the Fall.

I'd like to see a documentary about the Obama presidency come out soon after he steps down in 2017.

I'm an Obama supporter, but I hope it includes some difficult issues for him, because that's when he's at his best, dealing with those hard questions.

Like FISA, women's rights, flagpin patriotism and the revolutionary nature of the black church? Yeah, stellar performances.

The mainstream media hasn't asked any of the candidates a hard question yet. They are all in cahoots one way or another. Suck ups to a corporate system that controls governments, including ours, all over the world, takes our taxpayer money, makes billions of it and then pays no tax back.

I'm a Democrat and I used to bash Gore for various things but not anymore.

Gore holds up well. He gets better as he gets older. He's going to be considered a visionary in 20 years, or 100.

It's really too bad the judges picked Bush. Gore is the real thing. Genuinely innovative, and genuinely civic-minded. We ALL wuz robbed.

I like Gore as much as anyone, but this filmmaker achieved the heretofore impossible--he made Gore's speeches seem interesting and Gore himself even...charismatic.

If he is a true Democrat and puts his considerable talent into this film...and IF it is really aired at the Convention--just....wow!

No wonder the Republicans are bitter. Maybe they can have Dennis Miller do standup or something. Following the Dems, Minnesota is going to be a real snooze-fest.

Obama is better than any body running for the White House I've seen. We the people have got to help him get to the white house because the media seems fixed on bringing him down. The repubs are ready to swift boat. We have got to stay strong and hold him up. We have got to stand up with him and for him! The trolls on on every board calling him just a politican. That's their strategy to bring him down. Let me just say, even if he is a politican, he will make an amazing president and will bring respect back to America. All democrats need to jump behind him and help him beat McCain.

Obama 08, I think he's GREAT!

One emotion those who are not sold on the Obama snake oil do not suffer is jealousy of him...ever...sorrow and pity for those who have succumbed to his false candidacy, yes, but jealousy, NEVER. And we are not Republicans, nor would ever vote for one.
