Anti-Lieberman Group Delivering 43,000 Signatures To Senate

Wednesday morning, Brave New Films and its allies will deliver a petition with over 43,000 names to selected members of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, asking them to strip Senator Joe Lieberman of his rank and committee chairmanship when the 111th Congress takes its seats in 2009.

"We CANNOT tolerate a leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus who supports George Bush and McCain's War in Iraq. We CANNOT tolerate a Democratic chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee who endorses and stumps for McCain," the petition reads.

Lieberman's spokesman responds: "Americans are tired of this type of old, petty, partisan politics. Sen. Lieberman will continue to put the country's interests before partisan interests."

Tailgunner Joe has got to go. Ned Lamont's problem was that even after he won the primary handily, the democratic congressmen/women and senators would not come campaign with him. They shunned him.

Wonder if they still think they made the right move by allowing Tailgunner Joe to win?

Hopefully they learned this time that he can't be trusted.

Too bad the petition will land at the feet of Harry Reid, perhaps the most gutless worm in the entire Senate who in his capacity as Senate Majority Leader has done nothing but cater to the whims of the 'pubs and whine about how he is powerless to do anything. NOTHING CAN EVEN COME TO THE FLOOR FOR DEBATE OR A VOTE UNLESS THE SENATE MAJORITY LEADER ALLOWS IT! Lieberman must go, but so should Harry Reid. We need LEADER.

Now there's a group I am PROUD to be a part of. I pratically broke both legs rushing to the computer to sign that petition the other day. That man has annoyed me ever since I first heard him speak - which was during that snoozer of a debate between him and Cheney when Gore was running. I like Al, don't get me wrong - but I don't think Low Blow Joe did him any good. I remember how he came across to me as a glib, used-car salesman type.

When you look up the definition of old, petty, partisan politics, Lieberman, McCain, Cheney, Bush, and their fear-mongering, bigoted, corrupt, deceitful minions are pictured with it. Lieberman is no Democrat and gives Independent a bad name.

Democracy gets its power from vote participation; questioning; discussions of various opinions; and respectful disagreements. But these guys and the rest of the repugs have disenfranchised thousands, if not millions, while branding people traitors for criticizing the president and trying to hold government leaders accountable.
