John Mccain Joke

The Washington Post reports:

Sen. John McCain hasn't had good luck joking about Iran. But he tried it again Tuesday.

Responding to a question about a survey that shows increased exports to
Iran, mainly from cigarettes, McCain said, "Maybe thats a way of killing them."

He quickly caught himself, saying "I meant that as a joke" as his wife, Cindy, poked him in the back.

Last time, it was also Iran. His singing about bombing Iran to the theme of the Beach Boy' "Barbara Ann" drew derision from many quarters but a "lighten up" response from McCain

Mittens is on CNN lying thru his teeth. Another GOP b a s t a r d who cannot seem to tell the truth.

Funny thing is, the press thinks McCain corrected himself because its obnoxious to wish for the death of 80 million people, but he really corrected himself because he's afraid of the tobacco lobby.

They adore McCain.

Remember: these are the same press corp who laughed and laughed when President Bush went "looking" for WMD.

If McCain were the Democratic candidate, we'd have conservative foreign policy "experts" intoning on the grave diplomatic consequences of thoughtless comments.

It would be a HUGE GAFFE.

It's McCain, so they giggled, and went out for donuts.

We all know that wholesale murder is what the neo-cons want to offer. They can dress it up under the guise of patriotism and national security but you are advocating the destruction of people who have done nothing to us.

If I'm part of the Obama campaign, I put this statement in an ad and run the crap out of it in Virginia and the Carolinas. A republican talking about the hazards of tobacco -- that's apostacy in tobacco states.

Poor Panama Johnnie. He's had a bad couple of days.

Malaki supports O's Iraq withdrawal plan and now T Boone has an ad out saying we can't drill our way out of the energy problem.

No wonder his mindset is in such a destructive mode.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see that drilling for oil that we will not see for a period of 7 years is not an answer to anything today. The GOP is doing what they do best, beating around the b u s h by offering no real solutions. They keep talking about the psychological effect that drilling will have, does anyone think that this effect will last for 7 years?

Even if the oil started pumping tomorrow there's not enough refining capacity to handle it.

It's pure political pandering. Like the gas tax holiday.

The only time the President's approval rating drops among his core group of worshipful disciples is when their SUV use is threatened.

In other words, when sacrifice is personal to them.

You could track the far Right's happiness with the President by tracking gas prices. The two lines converge.

He is B u s h's 4th term, there is no doubt about that. He can try to run away from the image but he has officially become a neo-con pandering fool. I used to feel bad for what they did to him in 2000 and the smearing of his family. Not anymore.

I hate this nasty frat boy humor. It's the polar opposite of "Presidential".

No discretion, no self-discipline. Just blurt out whatever hateful thought enters your head, in the hope of making the press corps chortle.

He's President Bush all over again.

Urgh, Anyone else finds this guy's sense of humor disturbing? I don't mean the lack of it but the subject is usually morbid. He's the type that would laugh at his own joke even though no one else found it funny.

Maybe his humor consultant is Ann Coulter.

She gets a laugh from people getting blown up, too.

THIS is an important story????? sheesh, grow up, people...is it a lack of a sense of humor a requirement to be a democrat these days?

So, you don't think it's news when the potential leader of the free world makes crude and tasteless jokes about killing the people of another nation, in public? It's not only news, it's really disturbing news! I might ask you, "Is a lack of intelligence, humility, and rationality a requirement to be a republican these days"?

Are you going to tell me you actually find this remark funny?

If you do, you are the one with, literally, no sense of humor.

Yes! In fact it is terrifying! America is considering electing a leader who makes casual jokes about killing and entire nation of people!

While I agree that there the sense of humor of democrats is lacking (see 23/6 as an example), I do think that it is very important for a presidential candidate to mind his words when even joking about killing (or bomb-bomb-bombing) citizens of another nation, if for no other reason than for how this will be spun in Iran. I doubt Ahmadinejad will attempt to explain the joke, and even then, I'm sure Iranians won't think it very funny if a US President even thinks to joke about such things.

This is worse than calling for the assassination of a country's elected leader. Now call for the death of a whole population of a country.

Never never again an administration that thinks like Bush or McCain.

My take is that he was being sarcastic. He wants to go to war with them, which he knows will kill a lot of innocent people, and he is making fun of killing them with cigarettes, which are not what he wants to use.

His type of humor is ok for a drunk in a bar, if he's doing the buying.

I know it is obvious to a lot of people, but I really do believe this man would be as bad or worse than Dubya and Cheney.

One thing I really don't like about McBush is his lack of sincerity. It is the same lack of sincerity we see in Boosh making jokes about finding WMDs under his desk in the white house. Both men are underachievers that got where they did because of who their father was not because of their abilities. McBush would have never gotten into flight school based on his terrible rankings at the Naval Academy and when he jokes about how he did their he should be ashamed for his lack of achievement. Also I know people say you should not go their but being shot down and held as a POW does not make you a war hero. Like Jessica Lynch was not a war hero, but her rescuers were hero's but never mentioned. McBush has made his whole career in congress off of others work in congress as well. He is notorious for cosponsoring legislation just to appear as a maverick but seldom had anything to do about passing the legislation. I just sick of this man's crude jokes like the last one joking about beating his wife. Of course as always the media will pass this off as McBush being McBush but believe me he has all the character flaws and more that I have seen in the original Court Jester Boosh.

Wait until he becomes President . I remember Bush was very polite and diplomatic when he was congressman , saying we can not use preemtive attacks on countries just because we do not support their politics . saw that on a video (senator Bush versus President Bush , sorry i cant find the link . )

The Republican Party has scheduled a very important meeting to discuss HOW TO HOLD

THEIR CONVENTION AND NOT HAVE BUSH AND MCCAIN ATTEND.

Suggestion:

IMPEACH BUSH AND GET A FRESH START FOR GOP..

DROP MCCAIN AS A CANDIDATE.

CONCEDE THIS YEAR'S ELECTION AND REGROUP.
