Michelle Obama has come in for particularly poor treatment on FOX News -- from the "terrorist fist jab" to "Obama's Baby Mama," along with scores of comments on her supposed bitterness. In a new video, Brave New Films catalogs the racism and misinformation in FOX's anti-Obama attacks.

[WATCH]

"Not only are they smearing Michelle Obama with racist stereotypes, but then they offer a feeble apology that they believe gives them the right to slander her again," the group says in a press release. "FOX's long history of racism is nothing new, but it has been particularly egregious when it comes to their coverage of the Obamas. Racism and fearmongering have no place in our country or its politics, despite what FOX would have you believe."

Sign Brave New Films' petition demanding Fox "stop injecting racism, prejudice, and fear into our political dialogue" here.

I"m changing my middle name to both Hussein AND Michelle!

Sad thing is these Fox Noise people know exactly what they are doing which is why we have to fight for better education so people can see through all the manipulation of their minds!

Tell ya what, I'm a fat old white broad and I am very angry about alot of stuff! So what if someone is or isn't angry! When you find yourself there you do something about it instead of acting ugly run for president! Or dog catcher! Like the movie says, Do Something!

I agree folks should leave Michelle Obama alone.

They also need to leave Cindy McCain alone.

Every time somebody insults one of these candidates' wives' it opens to door to a storm of abuse that has innocent women as its object and it snowballs into an orgy of nastiness. Just because a woman campaigns at her husband's side, it doesn't make her "fair game" for the kind of venom in this video or the kind of venom directed against Mrs. McCain.

People need to STFU about the wives and talk about the issues instead.

I think it funy you Bommians can keep yelling nothing on Mrs. McCain. I agree they should tell about her work in third world countries starting and helping organizations like SMILE and others. Working on the unexploded bombs and mines like Diana did .Adopting a child that she brought back for medical treatment and bringing others here that would have never had a chance there. Yep Fox is sitting on this story and telling about Obamas wife instead. Lets see ... ummmm ... oh ya she is now proud of her country.and MAY leave her rezko mansion to go to DC if he should get in. Well she prob knows that wont happen so she can stay there like when he is Senator.Fox needs a shake up lets profile these 2 side by side.

First of all, you desperately need an editor.

As for Cindy, I don't see any reason to badmouth her or Michelle, but Fox does one hell of a job blasting away at Michelle.

Show me where any of the networks are hitting away at Cindy.

Good stuff like her stealing from her own charity to support a drug habit and then only admitting she had a problem when she found out she couldn't cover up the story. Or how about their clandestine relationship while McCain was still married? Nice values from the value party. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Kudos for any charitable work anyone does, but the lady aint a saint. Its all PR for these people.

Well alot of the American people do know of her kindness, and every time MSNBC and others try to Diss Ms. Mc Cain, they encounter our resistence to their message. The Mc Cains happen to believe in trying to make the world a better place and no attempts at bashing them will change this true perception of their values. They are effectively pushing them staight into the WH.

I think Fox News will come to be known as this generations "Joseph Goebbels" (that was Hitler's Propaganda Minister. They follow the tenents laid down by him, particularly repeating themes and creating labels for people and events that become distinctive phrases.

Michelle Malkin is an embarrassment. Not having the correct facts has never stopped her from creating her own. What a vile human being!

I listened to the video and found most of it to be attacking her words. While they might be distorted or while they might focus on one set of words too much, this doesn't seem to be a personal attack. I would focus more on the fact that we have so much fluff news, focused on pseudo-issues like whether Hillary is just waiting for Barack Obama to be assassinated or whether Michelle Obama loves her country. It does seem to keep our attention off of issues like what's McCain's and Obama's respective position on energy policies.

UGHHH why can't FOX News just die already... I wish all those idiotic (but pretty, don't forget pretty) ladies and slimy, creepy guys on FOX would just STFU!!!!! Their sole existence is a blight on this country and this world. Go away and live under a rock in the comfort of your home, NOT on my TV!

And leave Michelle alone because she is an independent, downright awesome woman.

The Project for Excellence in Journalism issues its State of the Media report every year. In connection with the PEW Center they conduct scienctific surveys of news audiences using recognized methodology. Did their 2008 report find that the Fox audience is just a herd of "true believers" who are "overwhelmingly Republican"? Not exactly:
The largest share of its audience – 38% -- were Republicans, followed by Democrats (31%) and independents (22%).
Interesting. That 38% figure tracks exactly with the MediaMark study. And at 53%, more Democrats and Independents watch Fox than do Republicans.

In Q2, 2008 Fox News Channel averaged 1,585,000 viewers. CNN: 961,000, MSNBC: 685,000. So according to the PEW survey, how many of these are Democrats? Numbers don't lie:

FNC (31% Democratic): 491,350 Dem viewers
CNN (45% Democratic): 432,450 Dem viewers
MSNBC (48% Democratic): 328,800 Dem viewers
Yes, it's true. More Democrats watch Fox News Channel than either CNN or MSNBC. And the Kossacks, blue blogs, and Fox haters who try to tell you otherwise are just plain wrong.

I watch Fox on occassion because we need to know whats they arte saying instead of reading articles or sound bites that may or may not take things out of perspective. Admittedly, its a hard station to watch, the hate and fear tactics are palpable and the way they jump on a bandwagon to smear someone is scary, especially when none of it is substantiated (andyet they still go with the story). Whe knew that a station that runs on ignorance would do so well, but, sad to say, it is just another reflection of our society.

Kudos to Fox for having the courage to vet the Obamas. Had they not, the world would have missed out on the opportunity to meet Rev Wright--and the long list of characters from Obama's past.

At least they don't tingle and gush over any candidate. And always present an issue from both sides. More fair than MSNBC could ever hope to be. Why worry about Barry and Michelle since they are perfect and have nothing to hide?

If Fox had simply vetted the Obama's that would have been fine. They did not do that though, what they did was wage a war against them and they have with great gusto lied and manipulated facts to create a picture of the Obama's that does not have any basis in fact. Also I think they tingle and gush over George Bush all the time.

Funny you don't mention any of McCain's shady connections: Black, Hagee, Parsley; the Keating 5. The unabashadly ignorant troll riley85 throws another zinger at us. And all he could come up with was Rev. Wright, who quoted a line from a guest on Fox News, but now apparently owns the statement. If ignoarance is bliss, you're one rightous dude!

Have you read the list of McCains past charactors? What you come up with on one hand with Obama, you have hundreds of shady charactors and deals from McCains sordid past.

These are the only type of politics the Republicans and their propaganda network, FOX News, can do. They think it will work again this year. After Obama's win they may realize that these tactics will no longer work. Until then we still have to deal with them.

Without these types of attacks idiots like Sean Hannity would not even have material for a show.

Look we live in a supply/demand world. We can stop watching Fox and that may solve some of the problem but there will always be a core of the bitter, angry people who will never change.

The other alternative is to send emails to the sponsors of all offensive Fox programs telling them that we will boycott their products unless they inlfuence the programming at Fox.

If the sponsors and Fox want to trumpet that America is the best country in the world then the proof has to be in the pudding.

Make them accountable.

MSNBC, CNN and FOX are all strongly biased. You are accepting some bias above another.
Many Americans feel very much like Fox, they have every right to have their own discussions. Nobody is saying you need to approve.

If many Americans feel a fist bump is a terrorist jab then many Americans should do us all a favor and not procreate.

When Michelle Obama said she was, as and adult, really proud...........you'd have to be an imbecile not to be able to draw attention to the word "really" in the context of the democratic process that was unfolding.

You are right, everyone has the right to watch whatever they want. However, if those who control the airwaves do not respect the power they have and act in an irresponsible manner, they should suffer the consequences.

If you can't see how offensive it is for O'Reilly to use to phrase "Lynching Party" when referencing the issue around Michelle Obama then you are lost.

I accept that all ends of the spectrum have their own bias and I am not endorsing one form over another. Fox just seems to have boiled it down to a science and that's pretty sick.

Actually it's not that "simple."

Via the internet, the clips FOX shows on television live on for months on end, with literally millions of people only seeing or hearing specific segments or edited cuts from the entire broadcast.

Why the FCC allows such distortions and outright racism is something I've never understood. They're jump all over a comedian or talk show host for specific comments, but FOX appears to be shielded from such scrutiny.

I think it is so funny how the ID10TS on F aux News make those sorry-a$$ faces (especially Hannity) when they are really trying to sell their story to their audience. The eyebrows slant they have that pleading look on their face like you have to believe me, because we are lying through our teeth, but we need to convince you the morons watching that we are sincere in our lies. How anyone can watch them and not feel completely insulted by their bullpucky is beyond me. Talk about body language.

I suggest everyone read the book, "Fair and Balanced My A$$". It's a great send up of Fox "News". It details the behavior of the channel, not just because of their naked ideology, but perhaps even more damning for being juvenile and unprofessional.

The book is hilarious.
