Brave New Films: Sorry FOX, We Won't Let You Trash Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama has come in for particularly poor treatment on FOX News -- from the "terrorist fist jab" to "Obama's Baby Mama," along with scores of comments on her supposed bitterness. In a new video, Brave New Films catalogs the racism and misinformation in FOX's anti-Obama attacks.

"Not only are they smearing Michelle Obama with racist stereotypes, but then they offer a feeble apology that they believe gives them the right to slander her again," the group says in a press release. "FOX's long history of racism is nothing new, but it has been particularly egregious when it comes to their coverage of the Obamas. Racism and fearmongering have no place in our country or its politics, despite what FOX would have you believe."

This is what Foxnews is about - they are a Right Wing station and are actively campaigning against Democrats.

Simply yelling about Foxnews being unfair, crazy, racist, etc.... isn't going to do any good - after all Foxnews feeds off of people hating them.

What can make a difference is if enough people go to their Advertisers and ask why do they advertise on a racist television station - and why do they support racist television shows.

If advertisers felt enough heat with the label "racist" they would be talking with Foxnews execs and telling them hey we can't have our image tarnished and will have to think about who we advertise with.

You can't foist someone onto a ticket with no experience, a lifetime accretion of entitlement, a policy of breaking campaign promises before he's even nominated and not one thing most of middle- class America can relate to, then expect him to win.

We aren't electing Michelle Obama. But we won't elect someone whose judgement is so bad that when he displays it, is to turn off entire demographics.

Unless you are addicted to Lost Causes I hope the Dems will get it together to find an electable candidate by the convention.

As a African American what ticks me off is that Malkin is befitting from the sweat, blood and tears that people of color have spent in this country. To be fair, there is indeed a liberal media bias in terms of politics. But Fox News takes it to a whole n'other level. They are flat and outright a propaganda machine for the right. Much as MSNBC is for the left. I'd like to see more shows like Hannity & Colmbs, but not with such a bias towards one or the other. I almost feel Colmbs is just there to prove Hannity's points by showing contrast.

GM doesn't care about the small person. Try googling the Poletown tragedy in Detroit Michigan and see what comes up, where an entire town was moved, people forced out of their homes based on lies. They (GM) would rather you not know about this.

This election should be a subject for a film on racism in America with FOX news as a central subject.

The ignorance of the general public is so deep, a FOX commentor here at Huffpo once identified Michelle Malkin as an African-American. (She's a second generation Filipina. Since that may confuse some Fox viewers further: a Filipina is a woman, or girl, from the Philippine Islands, who are usually described as "mestizos" (mixed race of various European and Asian descent.)

Michelle Malkin has a good tan, but no African heritage.

I had a friend form Alcoholics Anonymous who was a recovering "skin-head" completely regress back to his hateful self just from watching FOX news. He was supporting Obama all during the primaries until Hillary got to West Virginia. He snapped.

I asked him if he'd been watching FOX news because he kept using Republican talking points to describe his conversion. He denied it, but his wife busted him right on the spot. I thanked her, and then politely kicked him out of my house.

FOX is like a cancer. It needs to be removed in order for the organism to live.

Sorry I agreed when she said that because it has a lot to do with huge hope for great change which is within our reach. I have not been proud about the Iraq Wars, they make me sick and I think they are shameful. I think that the poverty and struggle in this country and worldwide is shameful and that the neglect of leadership to tackle PEACE, and GLOBAL WARMING, and the dire trials of the American public in handling the current recession all of this leads to despair and the neglect by leadership to address the struggles of the average American is a cause for great shame. Here's the cold water: You live in a country where half the people don't care that Fox does these things; where about half don't really care if they "torture the terrorists"; and where until recently, about half thought Iraq attacked us on 9-11.

Around half (or more) also don't get the connection between our participation in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians, beginning back during the sanctions and continuing through this war, and how the Arab world views us (essentially, that one American life is worth hundreds of Arab lives--just to get that catharsis of revenge, even if those particular Arabs had nothing to do with taking that one American life).

On the other hand, why limit it to only the deaths since the sanctions? We armed Saddam Hussein and backed him until he became dangerous to the stability of oil economies. It had not a damn thing to do with him "gassing his own people," etc., because we sat idly by while all that happened, and many more incidents that preceded it. As long as he was our guy, all that was fine.

And, of course, about half of us still think we should vote Republican whenever terrorists attack, even though the vast majority of trouble with terrorists has happened on the watch of the Republican or the neocon Republican-lite administrations. Up is down. Black is white.

For months, the MSM, including Matthews, Hannity, etc. used the term "blue-collar" as code for racist white people who will never vote for a black candidate. For months, they used this term to attack the perceived "weakness" in Senator Obama for not being able to "close the deal" with racists! Yet, not once did they adequately address the far more serious question of the entrenched racism that is so pervasive among this demographic, but instead, treated it as normal and acceptable and more of Senator Obama's problem than America's problem. Their acceptance of racism, and their unwillingness to examine their own consciousness, much less the consciousness of our nation, is why Senator Clinton could say with ease, "...hard working white Americans are supporting me," or why Buchanan can call Obama, "exotic" or Bill O'Reilly could talk about lynching parties and Cal whatshisname can say that all black women are angry! Or even why Bill Clinton could compare Barack Obama to the only other black candidate who's won S.C., and then wonder why people felt that what he did was racist! The media is a microcosm of the racial attitudes that exist throughout America, but as someone already posted, Fox News has taken it to another level.
