ABC News' Steven Portnoy Reports: Rush Limbaugh, opening the second phase of his "Operation Chaos" campaign to make mischief within the Democratic Party, called on his millions of listeners Wednesday to take part in the Sen. Barack Obama campaign's effort to democratize the party platform.

In announcing his latest "orders from headquarters," Limbaugh called "all forward position troops in the 50 states - make that 57 states" to alert. (During the primary campaign, Obama mistakenly said that he had visited "57 states.")

Limbaugh, who is now referring to the presumptive Democratic nominee as "the Most Merciful Messiah, Lord Obama," urged his audience to attend open meetings at which the Democratic platform will be discussed.

He's a circus act, a sideshow freak, among moderate Republicans and conservatives who understand that it's more important to put country above party -- and it seems as if there are more and more of them every day. Limbaugh only surrounds himself with his groupies and has no sense that his brand of politics is one of the factors in the exodus of conservatives from the Republican Party.

Limbaugh makes his living off the "war" between Democrats and Republicans. He needs it. Obama is the worst thing that could happen, because he represents a shift back to pre-GHWB governance, one that agreed to disagree, where it was OK to give and take, to be a Republican dove or a Democrat hawk, and generally make in the best interest of the nation as a whole.

This guy is such a has-been—I don't care how many millions of dollars he's being paid to blow corporate smoke in everyone's face. Phase 1 was a complete failure. This Phase 2 doesn't even make any sense. Does he really think Obama is going to adopt ridiculous ideas that come over the internet? Please.

Corporations have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find someone this low to carry their water.

The consummate manipulator spins his webs as his mindless Limbots perform his bidding. His latest contract for 8 years is for $400 million dollars, which is $50 million per year. Does he really sell that much product through his ads? Or is he worth that much money to the "establishment" to keep the status quo?

Operation Chaos was defeated when Obama won the nomination. This hasn't a chance because it would require more intellligence than just voting for a candidate in your opponents party you think is easier to beat.

It succeeded brilliantly. He aimed to keep the primary going as long as possible and create chaos in the democratic party. And it worked. Before it was over, the over-exposure resulted in several near scandals and several gaffs by he and his wife. If not for Rush, we might not have gotten to meet Rev Wright or Pfleger or learn what Obama thinks of people of modest means who live in small communities.
Today we have McCain pretty much even in the polls, HRC only suspended her campaign and McCain hasn't yet awakened from his midday nap.

Well somebody needs to prod him and wake him up. His adviser's gaffes are far worse than anything that's come out of the Obama camp. Phil Gramm's calling Americans a bunch of "whiners" for being worried about the current condition of the economy is one of the stupidest political statements I've ever heard. It will certainly draw the ire of anyone who's complained about gas prices, food prices, home values, etc. etc. In other words, pretty much the entire middle class. It's much worse, and much more damaging, than Obama's 'bitter' remark. I can envision the 527 ads now.
Perhaps Rush should give "Operation Chaos" a rest, and replace it with an "Operation Get Your Head Out Of Your @$$ McCane".

Funny, Mr. Limbaugh couldn't think of a single good thing to say about *his* candidate McCain ... practically wept on the air when McCain became the presumptive Repub candidate over Mitt Romney ... but he can't stand the thought of a Dem ... any Dem ... taking the election. He's certainly earning his pay as an entertainer. Political pundit? Not so much.

Actually, this would be a great idea if dittoheads weren't all fat complacent lazy schmucks who do nothing but listen to their fuehrer blather all day.

If they really did go to barackobama.com, find a local meeting, and attend, they would encounter a room full of nice, intelligent, caring citizens of all ages, races and religions showing respect for each other and enthusiasm for the election of O.

It would shake them to the core of their fascistic beings and scare the cr@p out of them.

Yeeeesssss. The democratic primary was an orgy of civility, racial harmony, tolerance, good humor, etc.... And there are only one group of people hang on their master's every word. When you look at one of Barrie's speeches his audience has the unsettling look of those manic masses, gazing longingly at the speaker. The time: 1934. The place: Berlin.

Libs are all for free speech ... unless they don't like it. There used to be no media outlets where conservative views could be expressed. AM radio, basically a dead medium, was the only place for conservatives to get a voice. And guess what ... it exploded in popularity once the people finally got a chance to hear an opposing view. Now Libs are crying that they don't have a place on AM radio. Liberals tried, got no audience, and failed.

I guess this is part of the Liberal media myth.

AM radio was not dead it was an out dated mode of communication.

It remained a religious haven and was seen as a prime target by the right because of that.

The only party I have heard say free speech is too free is the right.

It is the right who loves free speech and separation of church and state as long as it accommodates them.

I've seen this time and time again and it goes back to the old saying about pointing fingers. You can point your finger at people but there are always 4 pointing back at you.

The right shifts it own failings and double dealings off on the left and you guys not only fall for it you spout the propaganda they feed you.

We need no thought master and that is why the liberal talk radio failed, we are free and will not be told what to think or have our ideas bonded.

Free your self from these bonds stop listening and think for your self. Look and listen to other points of view, resist the chains of complacency and fear. Rebel against your oppressive thought masters.

Well they prefer we go back to the former "State run Programming."

All opposing views must be silenced.

IF they were so proud of their views, principles ( if they had any) and ideas ( if they had any), they would not be so insecure as to have them scrutinized.

So true and I guess that is why your comments weren't allowed to be posted here, oh wait they were.

See how much air time opposing views get on Limpy's show.

They get no where because there are no opposing views on Limpy's show. The Viagra Kid with his Boss Hogg stogie only allows his views to be broadcast over his air waves.

I guess Bill O has never turned off the mic on anyone who has something to say that he doesn't want to hear.

As much as I loath Rush's venomous hate filled show I have never once called for it to be pulled from the air waves.

Rush is a hypocrite and a liar who has neither principals nor ideas. He uses fear and hate to keep his listeners angry and freighted. His and his worshipers values are as flexible as a cooked noodle when it comes to those on their side of the political fence and as inflexible as a bar of tungsten when it comes to all others.

Try to scrutinize a right winger's point of view and see how far you get.

Yet another sign that our beloved country has descended into Fascism.

The US is no longer the "greatest country in the world." Used to be, but no longer. We are now an oppressed nation, run by fascist despots. We are thisclose to out-and-out dictatorship. I fear that the November elections will be cancelled, BushCheney will authorize a police state, and we will be no different than Spain under Franco, Italy under Mussolini, or Iraq under Hussein.

What a terrible thing this country has become. And Rush symbolizes the decline. Operation Chaos indeed. Operation Subversion of Democracy is what it is.

The greatest country in the world isn't a country at all. It's the European Union. A bunch of nationalistic lunatics have somehow managed to put their flags down and manage to work together. And it only took them a thousand years or so...

LOL. Since the first one worked so well!

This gas bag couldn't even convince Republicans to nominate someone other than Mc Cain. And he's going to influence the national election?

He is just trying to keep his dittoheads busy doing all this nonsense so they don't pay attention to how irrelevant he is.
