Florida Rep. Adam Putnam doesn't think Barack Obama can win the South. But he predicts Obama's campaign strategy will cause Republicans significant down-ticket damage:

No, U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Bartow, doesn't think John McCain is in any real danger of losing Florida, given McCain's natural appeal to veterans, independents, and pro-Israel voters. But the Chairman of the House Republican Conference thinks Barack Obama's ability to turn out African-Americans voters across the south could pose trouble for some Republican incumbents in states that McCain will still carry.

"I think you'll see House members who won their last race by 60%-65% percent lose because of the turnout model that Obama brings,'' said Putnam after taping a Political Connections interview on Bay News 9. He wasn't talking about any Florida seats, but his pick for the five races to watch in Florida: the seats held by Democrat Tim Mahoney, by the Diaz-Balart brothers, by Tom Feeney, and by Ric Keller.

Another Republican congressman agrees -- but he thinks it's a good thing.

Meanwhile, McCain might be in trouble after all: a new poll of Missouri shows him only three points ahead.

Putnam: "Keep those N**gras away from the polls, whatever you do".

That is what Putnam is really saying. Have they no shame at all? When will it ever end?

Since when is Turlough a member of Congress?

Junior here might have a point regarding the Diaz-Balart brothers: All the buzz I'm getting from Florida points to younger Cuban Republicans heading towards Obama. The days of Cuban voters waiting for the GOP to bomb Castro seem to be long over.

If the number of Hillary supports who wont vote stays constant -30 percent-the republicans may pick up seats in Congress. This fairy tale that Obama is telling is dangerous for the democrats.

I really like Chuck Todd but he doesn't know what I have heard from my 100 fellow Republicans.

They told me that they are not voting for McCain. They will either stay home or vote for Obama just so that they can say to their kids, I helped make US HISTORY.

That was some strong words coming from a bunch of Vets.

6 Million US Citizens in Foreign Countries and 3 Million are voting for Obama 1 Million on the fence and the others are trying to switch parties from Republican to Democrat.

Florida as of May 1st has 500k new voters registered Democrat.

That is 1.3 Million new Democrats since the beginning of the election.

GO OBAMA!!!

Why am I voting for Barack Obama?
Because I do not trust John McCain, he terrifies me!
Do you remember - when John McCain publicly called his wife a c*nt?
Do you remember - when he called a young person in NH a JERK and told him that he would send him to Iraq?
Do you remember - when he shouted F--- you! at Texas Sen. John Cornyn last year?
Do you remember - when he said Only an a------ would put together a budget like this, to the former Budget Committee chairman, Sen. Pete Domenici, in 1999?
Do you remember - him saying I'm calling you a f------ jerk! to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley?
I do…..
That is why I do not want this man’s finger on the nuclear button.

~~~ given McCain's natural appeal to veterans, independents, and pro-Israel voters.
W H O ........are they kidding?
I don't think he has a strong hold on any of these groups. Look..how they are throwing their problem on the black voters....lol...AS IF...blacks haven't always voted for the democrat....although....Obama is getting more of them to register,,,that's true.
I think they are fixing to smear, lie and cheat come Nov. I think Obama will win..but it will be close...lol..it's aways close isn't it? I think if they didn't fix the vote sometimes the results would be 70-39...instead of 49-51 I think both side are capable of voting machine fraud.
I hope "Opie" is right, because that means he will go away, too. And the person who will take his seat and represent we, the people, in Washington will be Doug Tudor. Learn more about Doug at TeamTudor.org.
The GOP is very good at election time talking points. They excel at talking points so much so that they win most elections on "talking points". The problem is that they fall short on the execution! They live for "winning" elections, but after they win they are clueless to solve the problems. Such is the life of the modern GOP. Anyone who votes for them and expects things to change is misguided.
Staggeringly, some young republicans are of different nationalities, many of whom where oppressed by the very party they affiliate themselves with now.
It's called the Stockholm Syndrome. The battered subconscious makes certain types fold to - and even lovingly attach to their captors. Not unlike certain zoo creatures.
A portion of this nation has done that these last few years. They are waking up now, because of the environment, the economy and the war.
Some are unchangeable, no matter what befalls them.
Lets think about this?
Do you really think when push comes to shove the American people will vote for McBush?
McCain is the man who voted to send our bravest to die looking for weapons of mass destruction that did not exist.
McCain is the man who does not know that 9-11 was caused by Osama Bin Laden not Sedam Hussein.
McCain is the man who does not know if the Sunnis or Sheits are our enemies!
McCain is the man who put our government on the China, Saudi Arabia credit card.
McCain is the man has adopted virtually the entire Bush agenda, often reversing long held positions and compromising supposed core principles. From Iraq, tax cuts for the wealthy, broken promises on the deficit to opposition to SCHIP, tax credits for health care, overturning Roe v. Wade and a right-wing Supreme Court, without question John McCain represents a third Bush term.
Get real!
Our only hope is Obama.
Well, with that comment and attitude, we might as well all pack up and go home. Except that with that attitude, I would not really know where "home" is.
Talk about a cynic!
Now why would even the south vote for the Republican-destroy America first- policies? All anyone has to do is look around them to see how putting Republicans in charge effects the USA. The politics of fear (abortion, gays) may not work when America is going down the toilet because we let the GOP run everything for too long.
I am sure you republicans will find a way to disenfranchise the black vote like you did in 2004. The republicans can't win so they will cheat to win.
The Southern Strategy destroyed the GOP in the South, not Obama. Your racial politics are catching up to you. See the Tennessee GOP which is more racist than the KKK themselves.
