Among the many names swirling in the Obama VP buzz is that of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. A second-term Democratic governor in what's traditionally seen as a bastion of conservatism, Sebelius earned national attention as the chair of the Democratic Governors Association in 2007 and for delivering the Democratic response to this year's State of the Union. But for many environmentalists, she made her mark with something else entirely.

Earlier this year, Sebelius went head to head with a major utility company and the state's Republican-controlled legislature, three times vetoing bills that would have allowed two 700-megawatt, coal-fired power generators to be built in the state.

She was pathetic in her response to The State of the Union. However, if she vetoed coal plants on numerous occasions, that's a HUGE plus. Perhaps she's just a bad public speaker with a good history of policy values behind her...

Bill Clinton gave an awful speech during the '88 convention when he nominated Dukakis. If Clinton can learn to be a better speaker, so can Sebelius. And she'll have a great coach. Barack Obama.

Coal plants make smoke. This is true. But let's not forget that the sun is getting bigger.
And as it gets bigger...it's gravitational pull increases. And let's not forget that she attended
the Bildergerg meeting recently. These elites have been proven to use ancient knowledge
of the sun's expansion to impose numerous taxes in order to push the One world
Government. Of course the North american Union must come first. Hence the astronomical
global oil prices foisted upon us by IMF friendly speculators. OH! and czeck-out
the carbon neutral "Browns Gas" and the 'Genepax Car"

A very, very impressive lady. Smart, and sticks to her guns. Good for her. I never heard of her before she was mentioned as a possible veep choice. She is the type of person we need in government.

We don't want to lose Kathleen! Pick someone else.

While I agree that we don't want to lose Kathleen (I work with a former neighbor of hers as well), because that would leave us with Patterson until the end of her term, I still think she would make a fine choice. I work at the place she used to head before becoming Governor and the people there tell me that she was the best boss anyone ever had and that she always does what is best for the working people. I certainly have seen that in her actions as governor and I know she would do that as VP as well.
