Pregnant Man Documentary May Go To Discovery

September Films said it secured the global rights to a documentary on the first man to give birth to a baby, and it looks like Discovery Communications will be delivering it to the United States.

Chris Finnegan, vice president of communications for Discovery Health, said his channel is in the process of finalizing a deal for exclusvie U.S. rights to the show.

Channel 4 will have the rights to the TV documentary in Britain and September is close to a deal with an outlet in Germany, the company said.

September said it got exclusive access to Thomas Beattie and his family for the show. Beattie is the transgender male from Bend, Ore., who kept his female sex organs in order to one day have children. He gave birth to a baby girl June 29.
