Joan Rivers To Compete On "Celebrity Apprentice"

Joan Rivers will be a contestant on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice, she told Ron Pascoe and Paul Telner for the Canadian Jewish News this week (midway through the article is the below excerpt):

After having celebrated her 75th birthday last month, Rivers continues to have a full schedule.

"I have a play in Edinburgh that will go to London. I have two books coming out. I have a tour going around with my comedy act. I have my jewelry company. I perform Wednesday nights at [the New York club] The Cutting Room," she said.

"I'm in a series called Z Rock coming to IFC [Independent Film Channel], doing a TV pilot, offered another game show and will be on Celebrity Apprentice."

She admits that she's never seen Celebrity Apprentice, Donald Trump's reality TV show. "They are going to send me tapes."

Rivers and her daughter, Melissa, have worked together as co-hosts of endless red-carpet events, starting in 1996 for the TV channel E! Entertainment, then for the TV Guide Channel and next for AOL."It's a lot of fun to work with your daughter. She's the only one that I'm happy who does better than I do," Rivers said.

"I'm very competitive. I'm not sitting back and passing the mantle. You're going to have to rip it from my shoulders."

In her striving to look young her face has changed shape and it now scares me. When she was really younger she was pleasant looking at best but she has grown by surgery into a mask like creature whose voice I still cannot abide. She might have many projects and things going on but when it is time for mother nature and you let the plastic man redo and redo until you are not a human being with a real face anymore what are you doing?

It's unfortunate that Joan River's experimentation with plastic surgery (surely that look wasn't intentional) have overshadowed the fact that she is still one great comedian.

Why is this woman still news? Doesn't she realize she is a laughing stock? I mean, even Phyllis Diller looked better after all her face lifts than Joan Rivers does. Joan has a mannequin face. And you can tell when you watch her talk and her mouth does not have much action that she has been face lifted far too tight!

I've talked to Phyllis Diller "close-up" on three different occasions and she has a very beautiful face. Phyllis had her face "restored" the RIGHT way and she looked great well into her 70's and 80's. She still looks good.
