What a remarkable little lady! Her little hands are so tiny as they roll over those enormous keys, yet she plays so beautifully! And her singing is so precious! One thing that came to my mind while watching this is a simple message: We may look differently, and talk differently, but there is no difference. We are all one. May this little darling help spread that message.

Please ... lets have no more critical comparisons of this child. She is an absolutely precious and charming little lady who reduced me to tears of joy and compassion. Hooray for her and her mom.

When Koreans count age, they start with, not age 0, but with age 1. So children are one-year old when they are born and then become age 2 with the new year. Hence, Koreans born in the same year are always all the same age. Accordingly, this little girl is actually maybe only 3 if she hasn't had her birthday already, or only 4 if she has had her birthday. Anyways, definitely not even 5 years old as we would understand 5 years old to be.

I don't have access to the sources for this anecdote, so ages, places and times are inexact.

Somewhere around age 10/12 Mozart went to the Vatican to hear one of Palestrina's [acapella, 16th vocal polyphony in Church Latin] masses. The church chose not to publish the score, keeping it one of their in-house treasures, inaccessible to the public at large. After the concert, Mozart went to his room and wrote out all the all the musical lines, all the words to a densely scored masterpiece in full score with no errors.

That what it takes to be Mozart.

Mozart wrote his first concerto at around 4 or 5, his first symphony at 7 and his first full-scale opera at 12. I've also heard the story. Reportedly, Mozart could listen to anything once and remember it note for note. He composed many of his pieces in his head and then wrote them down later. If she is the next Mozart, then, HOORAY for us! Maybe we'll get some great new piano work from this little girl, or maybe she'll just tour the world like Midori and Joshua Bell and other child prodigies, which would also be exciting.

If she's the next Mozart, we'll know soon. Maybe with some training (Mozart's dad was schooling him in classical music from the time he could sit up straight) she could really be spectacular.

Conversely, anyone who feels the need to find out how far the classical music exploitation scam can devolve should "Google" Denis Dutton's "Beethoven on Prozac", concerning David Helfgott and the myth of "Shine."

This little girl is what she is, inspiring ... Mozart was what he was and is currently dead.

The piece he copied from the Vatican was the "Miserere" by Gregorio Allegri. Of course this girl isn't a "new Mozart." Even if her parlor-game talent were any match for his (which it almost certainly wouldn't have been), Mozart's real genius lies in what he did as an adult. In the past 200 years there have been thousands of "child prodigies" like this, and guess what . . . they've all been forgotten. What sets Mozart apart from them is the fact that he churned out hundreds of amazing masterpieces as a composer.

She is adopted so I wonder who her birth parents were? Obviously they had not much time if any with her due to her being adopted but talent is amazing and even though not perfect she comes so very close it is a miracle to hear her. How she got from hearing the music to sitting at the piano without any instructions is also wild. Reincarnation maybe?

What a blessing she is to the world. I was a prodigy when I was a child, but so many expectations and demands from others caused me to shut down. God bless this little girl. May she be treated with the respect and kindness that she needs.

Final thing. I hope their parents NEVER EVER let her out of their sight. This world is so cruel and dangerous that I would NEVER send her away for training or coaching. Let her develop naturally.

Using American sounds, can someone tell me how her name is pronounced, please?

This is an Anglicization already. As in most Asian societies, the surname is pronounced first. So her first name is Ye-eun. The Ye should be self-explanatory. The "eun" part would be pronounced like "E-yoon", as in soon. And her surname sounds like Rocky Balboa calling someone's attention.

I heard the moderator say, "yay-un" for her first name. Last name is "you." So the whole name would, in Korean order, sound as follows: "you yay-un." This is probably as close as it gets in English phonetics.
