McCain: I'm 'Learning To Get Online Myself'

The good news: John McCain is in fact aware of the Internet. From today's New York Times interview:

Q: What websites if any do you look at regularly?

Mr. McCain: Brooke and Mark show me Drudge, obviously, everybody watches, for better or for worse, Drudge. Sometimes I look at Politico. Sometimes RealPolitics, sometimes.

(Mrs. McCain and Ms. Buchanan both interject: "Meagan's blog!")

Mr. McCain: Excuse me, Meagan's blog. And we also look at the blogs from Michael and from you that may not be in the newspaper, that are just part of your blog.

Q: But do you go on line for yourself?

Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don't expect to be a great communicator, I don't expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need - including going to my daughter's blog first, before anything else.

Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?

Mr. McCain: No

Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.

So, if he's just learning to go online, what was McCain campaign manager Rick Davis talking about last month?

BRZEZINSKI: Does John McCain, does he use the internet? Does he use email? [...]

DAVIS: He actually is, he always is grabbing people's Blackberrys on the bus. In fact, no reporter's Blackberry is safe from his prying eyes. He loves to tool around on the internet, he especially loves the videos that get produced that usually poke fun at him. I think that's his most entertaining part of the internet.

Who in their right mind would even admit to not being computer literate while urging people to vote for him as President as the most qualified to run the country in the 21st century? I, like, so many of the posters before me know gazillions of seniors who are computer savvy: from setting up their own blogs to managing their financial business online to everything in between. As i blooged earlier, I want a President who can go online access email, outlook express, read budget sheets, can flip to the next page or use powerpoint presentati­ons.. those are user friendly features he should certainly know how to use..

Sen McCain may be eligable for a VA program which provides 100% sc disabled veterans with a computer & instructions at the veteran's home from a VA contractor plus 24/7 advice when having problems using a computer. JSMcC was a POW & is seriously disabled. Go for it Sen!

When McCain gets up in the morning somebody has to remind him that it is not 1958. Then someone else hands him a remote (they trained him to use one) and he turns on a DVD of "Leave It to Beaver" and eats his breakfast of champions. While this is going on his staff is on the phone talking to Karl Rove and his wife is out charging up a storm ("I'll have three of everything­.").
Do we really want another president who lives in trees and can't find Boise Idaho on a map? Do we really want a president who is supposedly 100% disabled and collects almost 60 K, tax free, every year on top of his senator's pay? Do we want a president who chums around with Traitor Joe Lieberman and listens to Phil Gramm (the man who almost single-handed brought us the housing meltdown)?
No, sorry. None of the above. And by the way, Mr. McCain did you ever apologize to the American people for your shenanigans with the savings and loan criminals? Remember that? All that money from K Street? Some guy named Abramoff.
