Chris Matthews Confuses Barack Obama And Osama Bin Laden Once Again

Talking about the flap over The New Yorker's controversial cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama, Chris Matthews slipped up -- once again -- and said "Osama Bin Laden" when he meant to say "Barack Obama." Matthews quickly caught and corrected himself.

What are you trying to say here? That incompetence is a virtue? Some would call them Freudian slips, But in Mathews case I thing they are intentional, most likely scripted. Anyway it doesn't really matter, he's so out classed by Obama that his faux pas won't make much of difference to anyone who is truly paying attention.

We should lighten up a bit. For many, Obama's name is a bit difficult to get used to, and it does sound similar (unfortunately) to Osama. I remember someone introducing Obama to a crowd, and made the same mistake, to which Obama corrected him. Mathews has the tendency to talk fast, and it seemed a genuine mistake, which many will continue to make.

You mean he confused Osama been forgotten with Obama's name being everywhere? No Chris never could figure out just what side he wanted to be on. I can't watch Cable news for more than a minute now. When I can tolerate him; sometimes I listen to Rush, yes Rush. You can always tell just where we've got them from this loose cannon. He and others claim that he has so many listeners. Right... we can't wait for the day that he completely blows his stack! The Obama European Tour (especially Germany) will begin the catastrophic collapse for the right... I expect to hear the N word on the air, loud and clear. Phil Henry tried and got caught.

If Chris could just slow down and let his brain catch up to his mouth once in awhile he would not make these stupid mistakes. His is one show I just cannot watch sober. He doesn't stop talking long enough to let anyone get a word in. I get a headache just trying to keep up with the yelling.

llonzano, those are my sentiments exactly. Chris not only needs to slow down, he should have the courtsey of waiting on a reply to his question before posing another. He acts as if he's the moderator and the guest rolled into one. So why have guests on his show if he's going to constantly interrupt them before they can respond to his question? I like MSNBC, however, it's becoming very difficult to watch Chris' segments. Actually, he could take a few lessons from Keith and Rachel because their interviews are informative and both are a pleasure to watch.

I believe that CM just made a mistake tonight, but I have some honest advice for him. To wit: Chris, my man, get a vocal coach! You are so busy yelling to express yourself that you trip over your own tongue. Either that or get the sound engineer to check your levels before you go on air. It is obvious that you are straining your vocal cords every broadcast which is not good for them. Remember diction? Take a breath! Love your show!

Chris sometimes seems he distracted at times and is talking on auto pilot, which is when it seems he gets a little sloppy. I wish his show was more consistent because when he's on his game, it's a very good show.

Once, I say holding my nose; it was a slip of the tongue. Now, it's just sick and demeaning and he's getting to cocky for his own good. It will come back to bite him soon enough because he will be on the outside looking in when Obama is the President and everyone around him is getting interviews and he is snubbed.
