It's about time an avowed Atheist again aspires to a major political office. Jesse referred to religion as a "crutch for the weak minded " back in 1999. Alas, in this country of religious hipocracy , anyone who supports the separation of church and state has little chance of being elected. I doubt Harry Truman or our founding fathers could come close to winning an election now days.

A former wrestler and a former Sat. Nite Live cast member running for office in MN, makes me wonder what the hell is going on in MN?

The polls leave no question that Ventura would be nothing but a spoiler for Al Franken. If he gets in the race, neither he nor Franken have prayer. Is that really the political legacy that Ventura wants for himself?

Are you sure? Franken never had a shot but I think Jesse would be perfect for the Senate because he doesn't play these little games that the R's and D's do.

Jesse is no fool. He he has a good head on his shoulders. Anyone who thinks he sounds like he isn't political material is brain washed by the political talking heads who speak in vaguries of this quickly degenerating country.

No, Jesse is stoo-pid. And his hostility toward our government includes dismissing the good aspects of it as well as the bad. For instance, he badmouthed the National Endowment for the Arts by saying that taxpayers shouldn't subsidize artists, and that they should wait tables if they need money. Well, that's dumb and wrong. An NEA grant helps artists, it doesn't help them live large or "subsidize" people who do, in fact, work at jobs like waiting tables. NEA recipients contribute more to our communities than Jesse--a phony athlete and phony leader--ever has or ever will.

Second, Jesse revealed himself as dumb and reckless when he portrayed American Indian fishermen as super-privileged people with all the latest high tech equipment. He did that as Minnesota Governor, and now he portrays himself as the Friend of the Indian by saying that immigration laws are wrong because everyone except for Native Americans are "illegal aliens" in our country.

I've heard better political analysis from bar patrons after they've had a few beers.

If Jesse Ventura runs for the Senate, 9/11 Truth will become a front-page issue. Whether he wins or not, the corporate-controlled media won't be able to avoid covering his speeches. Like Ventura or dislike him, he isn't the type to back down. So let's hope he runs, because it might be the best chance we have to prove that Bush & Co. have been lying to us for seven years about what happened that day.

It was so humilating to be from MN the first time we elected a professional wrestler with an ego larger than his boas. Given the last 8 years with Bush, nothing we elect will create humiliation.

Coleman will privide the political material for Frankin, and Ventura will provide the rest. Frankin will have a feast. It could turn out out to be the funniest debate in history.

Ventura's a fine candidate--for a reality show.

OK, yes, he's right about some things and the system could use some shaking up. But he's also wrong about just as many things, and he pushes the buttons of people whose frustrations have gotten the better of their critical thought. He's not of the people, he thinks he's better than them because he calls America a nation of "lemmings." Well, he's got plenty of sheeplike followers himself. Plus, he's got a book to sell.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll throw his hat in on Larry King. Perfect forum--a phony journalist hosts a phony leader. And if he does, I'm pretty sure he'll make a competitive race between Coleman and Franken into a win fof Coleman.

PS--That's if he wins debates w/Coleman + Franken, and anyone who thinks that Ventura will make mincemeat out of Franken, who is smarter and funnier than Ventura as well as having a real plan--well, don't be so sure. In fact, Franken will have no fear of JV and just might be the person to accomplish the long overdue task of knocking JV off his high horse. The Body is a legend in his own mind.

I've loved Jesse ever since I saw him body slam Randy Savage after the referee was knocked out. Jesse in the Senate, and Arnold running California.
Conspiracy theorists? This way, please. There are still a few seats near the stage.

Only thing better would be if the Ahnold would defeat Barbara for the senate seat. Then the " terminator & Jesse the Body " would wreak havoc on Washington.
