Jesse Ventura announced on Larry King Live Monday that he would not be running for Senate from Minnesota (although he reserved the right to change his mind if God came and told him to run between Monday and the filing deadline Tuesday at 5pm).

Watch Ventura's announcement:

Would someone give God a cell phone so he can call Mr. Ventura. Outside of Giuliani's proposal of stripping the tax code down to a couple of pages, Mr. Ventura has the only other valid proposal to save democracy which is to place "NONE OF THE ABOVE" option on all political ballots. We should have the right to express non-confidence in the government process right at the ballot box.

All you'd have to do is not show up, It's the lazy American way.

Oh, no! It's a conservation measure.

Think of the gas Americans can save by not driving to the polls. 8-b

How will society ever progress without him? I'd elaborate more except I'm in a heated game of checkers with my pet monkey!

I believe a really good blog would have shown us a much longer list of the things that Ventura is not going to do.

Good, cause he's just an egomaniac anyway. Maybe he and Hogan can start a seniors wrestling tour, with McCain as a referee.

What politician isn't an egomaniac?

Very sad. The two party system is BROKEN.

Ventura isn't the answer for that issue.

Good,... he would have been too much of a distraction in the run between Al Frankin and Coleman.

Coleman has got to go,... AND I would love to see a real comedian (and a smart one) on the Senate floor in place of that clown.

I would rather have Ventura as president than either of the major party candidates. I don't agree with him on a whole lot but at least I agree with him about somethings.

Have you seen the movie IDIOCRACY? Jesse needs to retire to a porch somewhere.

Maybe now you can go back to your "The Body" character and wear tights and boas. If they still fit!

Hey I like the "body" as much as the next guy but we need another Democrat like Al Franken!!!

Jesse has a lot of rabble rousing rhetoric, but few truly good ideas.
He overlooks the fact that complex social issues are not resolved with simplistic platitudes.
Blaming both parties for the crimes of the GOP is naive at best.

If a problem can't be fixed with a stepover nosehold, it just can't be fixed.

Thanks - I have a stomach ache from laughing at your comment. Actually though, Jesse may very well have done as good a job as Governor for the State of Minnesota as Coleman, Humphrey, or any of the others who were running against him at the time might have. Unfortunately, his huge ego got in his way and he wasted a lot of time and energy fighting with the media for being mean to him during his term. Coleman probably would have loved having him join the race, but I don't suppose Jesse wanted to be responsible for helping Coleman win the race this time around.

Little you know, sparky. Barack caved on FISA to cover the democratic leadership. They're all as guilty as Bush. The "gang of eight" (as they're known- the leaders of congress and senate plus president and his goons I'm mean assistants), knew all about the illegal wiretaps and torture and did nothing to stop the Hitler of our times- George W. Bush. They were in collusion, therefore they're just as guilty. Don't mean to rain on your parade, but somebody's gotta do it.

That doesn't make Ventura less of an attention seeking blowhard though does it?

Jesse the noMind is not the answer to folks' troubles with the two party system.

Is it a "Slow News Day" at the ol' Huff Po?
King is silly and irrelevant.
Ventura is silly and irrelevant.

BUT if they had a cage match, smack down and King won!
That would be news!!!
