Anyone the watched Madonna's film Truth or Dare knows that she is a royal B that controls people with an iron hand. As I understand it, she put her brother in a financial choke hold and this book was his attempt and getting out of her clutches.

He reminds me of one of those people who desperately try to seek the limelight, and after 15 minutes self-destructs. Because he knows he's scum, as does everyone else.

Guy Ritchie sounds like a jerk. Men at that age making remarks about gays as though that were a clever mature thing to do, is disgusting.
But from the sounds of her, they must make a great pair to draw to. It sure doesn't make it seem that meeting Madonna would be that much of a treat.
All I can ever think is that her hair must grow like a weed because she ALWAYS has roots showing 2 months growth...with all that attention to herself, why isn't she staffed with a hairdresser?

Can't believe I'm replying to this ....Those who knew Madonna from the Danceteria days are no doubt applauding Christopher penning this book. ( as sleazy as it may be to drag your sister thru the mud *even* ) Madonna has never met anything or anyone who has not been a utensil. Including being very functionary when it comes to herself - if it served her ambition. She is a mistress of self invention ( despite her talent) and America just slurped it up. She is perfomance art . I'm sure many people are getting a voracious sense of relief via his caustic tell all. Karmas a bitch.

No one, and I mean no ones opinion of her will change. Those that love her, know this book is heavily biased through her brothers eyes. Those that hate her will hate her no matter what she does because to them, she can't win for losing. So hate all you want and Madonna will continue to reap the accolades, sales, adulation she deserves. Sucks to be you haters.

Let's see. He is a drug addict who sniffed coke off a key in front of Jack Nickelson( according to this book). He sponged off his sister for years. She gave him every job he had, put him through rehab then married someone he hates. No reason there to mistrust his spin is there?

There is nothing new in this book. Madonna is like EVERY Hollywood star--she has an ego, is self centered and demanding. Wow. That explains about 99% of all music and film stars. Tell me something I don't know.

Still like her music and that won't change no matter what he could write. I will never meet her so it makes no difference who she is personally. Also, he is mad at her so, like any relationship, when you fight you exaggerate your side and spin the situation favorable to your side.

I doubt many Hollywood stars expect their poor relatives to pay for their own tux and incidentals and plane tickes for their weddings. No, I'd say Madonna stands alone as someone worth, what 50 million, who won't fly her close family members in for her wedding. That's beyond cheap-it's repulsive. Also, most stars don't exhibit the downright psychotic need to humilate everyone around them. This delightful Madonna trait has been on display going way back so that bit in his book is absolutely true. I've waited 20 years for this book, trying to raise decent daughters while this woman made tawdry the standard of the day. While all the world, apparently, was willing to follow along, I said (darkly), "Mark my words. In twenty years we're going to find out that all this supposedly modern behavior masks a pretty sick ticket." Thank you, Christopher!

There's 5 minutes of my life I'm not getting back but after reading the entire excerpt, it's plain to see that her brother is a pathetic leech. When the Madonna gravy train that paid him off as a decorator ended, he sold his sister in book form. What will he do when he's blown through the money from the book since it appears his whole fortune and sense of self is wrapped up in being Madonna's brother.

A friend of mine was an extra in a movie that she made in the 90's and she told me that she would have loved to tell us all how Madonna was actually a cool and nice person but she was really a total jerk. She even had another extra fired for smiling at her and making eye contact during a break in shooting.
