Obama To Donors: "I'm Skinny But I'm Tough"

Obama also showed off his sharp elbows at a fundraiser here, noting to the donors that he had told NBA star Bill Walton, who was in the crowd, that he would be a feisty candidate.

"I was talking to Bill Walton, he knows something about winning, and he said, 'Well, I'm worried we Democrats -- sometimes we get too soft. We're always on the defensive, and these folks are going to play mean and they're going to play nasty.' "

"Listen, I'm skinny but I'm tough," Obama said. "We are going to be responding swiftly and forcefully but always truthfully to any attacks that are launched."

Bill Walton complains about Democrats always being on the defensive, and Obama, instead of saying "well we'll be on offense this time" basically says "well yeah, but this time it will be really GOOD defense."

Look defense is nice, but I'm tired of always having to defend against baseless attacks while McCain skates on through because we have a candidate that doesn't do freakin' offense.

Obama likes to grandstand by criticizing blacks. It wins white votes. For example, his Father's Day speech applies to ALL bad fathers. Not just the black ones. The thing is Obama is loathe to criticize whites because it's political suicide (ie, Bittergate). It's easy and in vogue to bash on black men as if they are the ONLY ones with issues in America. Considering Obama is running for US President (of all citizens) and not NAACP Chairman, his Father's Day speech while correct, was still politically opportunistic. That's what was foul about the whole thing and Jesse Jackson should have stuck to the criticism even if his language was wrong.

He's had the same speech in front of non-AA's..­....people are acting like that was the first time he had ever given that speech and he still has the same theme....now if you don't think your kids can benefit from a better education and having both parents be responsible for them, OH WELL.....

Name an instance where Obama SPECIFICALLY lectured white men as "boys" and singled them out as failing their families by not being good fathers, divorcing or cheating with younger mates. You can't because he hasn't. Obama becomes race specific when talking about black men. He running to lead white, latino, jewish, etc. men too.
