Sarah Silverman And Jimmy Kimmel Break Up

NEW YORK — Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman have broken up, their publicists said Monday. "Jimmy and Sarah have no further comment," Kimmel's spokesman Lewis Kay told The Associated Press, confirming the split that was first reported on Vanity Fair magazine's Web site.

Silverman's publicist, Amy Zvi, confirmed the breakup in an e-mail message to the AP. Zvi didn't immediately respond when asked for further details.

The pair dated for five years, and were one of Hollywood's funniest _ and seemingly solid _ couples.

Earlier this year, they took the Internet by storm with a mega-popular video duel. Silverman debuted a clip of her and Matt Damon singing about their fake love affair on Kimmel's ABC late-night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and Kimmel later responded with a star-studded video declaring a romance with Damon's best friend, Ben Affleck.

Silverman, 37, has made frequent appearances on the 39-year-old Kimmel's talk show. The comedian has starred in a feature-film length version of her one-woman show, "Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic," and fronted her own Comedy Central series, "The Sarah Silverman Program."

Hate to break it to you Sarah, but that "shock" thing with curse words went out in the 60's. Rap music regularly uses profanity and violent images in videos kids see so that by the time those kids are teenagers the interest in people/artists who use profanity and uncouth images to gain attention is, to them ironically, old hat. Now it could be that certain producers are interested in maintaining the vulgar culture in television media alive so that the "free speech" aspect of it can maintain it's relevancy to our society, but with new horizons defining "free speech" via the Internets, couldn't you be a pioneer instead and leave the juvenile behavior to.....well..a juvenile?

Jimmy didn't "dump" his wife and kids for Sarah. His marriage came to its end all by itself like it does for many many couples, before he met Sarah. And his children are almost adults and still spend a lot of time with him.

Oh, I am so sad about this.
