"Fox & Friends" Is "An Entertainment Show That Does Some News," Says Fox Exec

The Fox News team was pressed about recent on-air controversies, such as the caricatures of New York Times staffers that recently ran on the morning show "Fox & Friends."

"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace said he was not aware of the images until he read about them.

"My own feeling is news organizations ought to run regular pictures of people and not doctor them," he said.

[Fox News Channel Executive Vice President of News Editorial John] Moody called the morning program "an entertainment show that does some news," adding that "some of the humor gets edgy."

"Sometimes people don't think it's humorous," he added. "But that's the nature of humor."

As for an anchor's recent description of a "terrorist fist jab" between Obama and his wife, Moody called it "regrettable."

Why is this even being discussed? All the morning purported news shows have always been primarily about entertainment and often geared toward women. The news is there just to give them some media cred. You never have your news heavyweights on in the morning unless there are deluded people out there who believe that Matt Lauer is an actual journalist and not just Howard Stern's former gardener (which he was, in fact).

I don't watch FOX news for the obvious reason,they are a mouthpiece for a corrupt administra­tion.That being said I have noticed while channel surfing how they try to grab your attention with hard hitting sound effects and visuals that are exciting and similar to other fast paced shows where you don't want to think,you just want to be entertaine­d.Naturall­y at first blush you say it's a free country and all positions and views should be heard.The problem is not having a free market of ideas,it's allowing a supposed news broadcast to lie to us on our own publicly owned airwaves and present this administrations slant on all news.It's big brother,it's a pig w/lipstick,it's ______(fill in the blank).We have all heard acquaintances or strangers comment about world events and very often they are people that have no clue,they regurgitate what they hear on the "news"and other than a talking point ,can't converse about what they just commented on.Fox news is guilty of disseminating propaganda and believe it or not are guilty of the deaths of our soldiers in Iraq by their failure to report the truthful news.By watching FOX and keeping them rolling in money via their sponsors, you as a viewer of the dumbed down news are in effect responsible for their deaths too by being a consumer of their sponsors.

I was surfing and stopped on these guys one morning last week. They had some guest who was supposed to be talking about some aspect of business activity, and the discussion devolved into how attractive the former Miss America Gretchen Carlson (1989) is. “How can you guys stand it?” the guest gushed. “We know,” replied one of the other hosts. “It’s like looking into the sun!”
