Perez Hilton Sued For $25 Million

Perez Hilton's found himself in a bit of a legal pickle.

Former reader - and presumed fan - Diane Wargo has filed a $25 million lawsuit against the blogger. Wargo claims that Hilton violated his own privacy agreement after he posted a curse-laden email she sent from her work information.

By printing her email, Wargo says, Hilton set off a firestorm of hateful emails from his many readers. The suit also alleges that she, her husband and children all received death threats following the email's publication. Wargo's employers, Menorah Park Center for Senior Living, subsequently fired Wargo for the email, which read, in part: "Perez you are a fat gay pig. Angelina is a [sic] ugly whore. You love her because she's a fag lover." Sounds like a classy lady.

As disgusting as I find Perez Hilton to be, this suit will only bring him more press (does anyone get why that site is successful or why he's turned into a pseudoceleb???) and that's a bad thing.
Karma (that bitch) was at work on this one.... the e-mail was a bad idea, sending from work a worse idea and firing her a good idea.

The woman doesn't have a case. Nonetheless, I don't know why this Perez Hilton is so popular and why the mainstream media is giving credence to this gossip monger. For the most part, his blog is very offensive and libelous. I am surprise he is not being sued more often for the offensive labels he calls the celebrities he doesn't like or do not placate him.

And the lessons are these:

One, don't mix your personal and work lives, including sending email for non-work related purposes from a computer at your place of employment. .

Two, anyone who doesn't realize that any email you send to a blogger or a media entity may end up being used in print or on the air is an idiot.

Three: if you spend a lot of time at gossip sites it is a sign that you need to go out and find yourself a life.

This woman has no case. I mean none. I hope she has to pay Perez- legal bills.
