Wall Street Journal:

The McCain campaign dispatched its top female surrogate Tuesday to meet with about 25 disaffected supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton in Westchester, N.Y.

Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Co. and a top adviser to Republican Sen. John McCain, met with the former Clinton backers at a private home for more than an hour and a half. Fiorina said in an interview that over glasses of iced tea and finger food, she fielded questions from Democratic women she described as "intensely uncomfortable with the notion of a President Obama.''

Both McCain and his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama have both been courting the 17 million or so people who voted for the New York senator during the primary season.

The Westchester meeting came at the behest of former Clinton supporters, some of whom have said - adamantly - that they won't support Obama. Polls show Obama winning the majority of support from women voters while about a quarter of ex-Clinton supporters are leaning toward McCain. The meeting wasn't stocked with typical voters, however. These were prominent activists and fund-raisers, including several known as "Hillraisers,'' who raised more than $100,000 for Clinton during the primary season. "I didn't ask how many of them were Hillraisers but certainly a number of them were,'' Fiorina said.

Nor, Fiorina said, did she ask the women whether Clinton knew they had arranged the meeting with her. Clinton has endorsed Obama and urged her supporters to help defeat McCain.

I wonder if she told them that if they vote for McBush, not only might Roe v. Wade be overturned, but McBush will probably take their contraceptives away.

One can only hope they will have lots of unwanted babies and spend the rest of their lives caring for them.

Meet with them and explain what issues? Fiorina could go there and tell them McBush won't do anything whatsoever and they won't still support Obama. They're minds are already made up.

Anybody who can raise $100,000 to throw away in a primary certainly isn't an ordinary Democrat. With big bucks like that, it's easy to see why they wouldn't object so much to a McCain Presidency and another four years of BushCo economic policies.

Maybe this is a good thing we can restructure the democratic party by kicking out the Liebermans.

It would be wonderful if only liberals would be in the Democratic party.

That eliminates Hillary and her die-hard McCain-loving supporters.

Hillary was caught on tape telling Bill "screw the middle class white voters, you don't owe them a thing." This took place when he was Gov. of Arkansas. Well I guess PUMA's are rich so this wouldn't include them.
I would just like to say to those who are leaving the Dems. Goodbye.

I'm still mad at her for that POS scanner I bought 10 years ago. She can not seriously be a contender for #2. Can she? Her record as a leader is crap.

Isn't this the McCain campaign surrogate that went on MTP this past weekend and said that no one is listening to McCain's campaign surrogates?

Don't know much about her, but she already seems like a tool... at least she's helping sink McCain with her contradiction of his policies... let's hope she keeps on making fools of the McCain campaign!

25 supporters, that is about .5 voters/state... great ground swell. Those 25 will tip the balance! What did we see in a recent report 80+% of Hillary supporters WILL vote for Barak Obama and fewer than 6% won't? I suggest that the people she was talking to were Rush Limbaugh Democrats!.

These Hillraiser PUMAs need to be exiled from the DNC Convention in August. Howard Dean needs a profile sheet of each and everyone of these PUMA brats so that they don't distract from Obama making inroads to uniting the Democratic party.

i'm guessing that, since they need to preserve their privacy, it's possible they're actually republicans who don't want to be identified as such-kind of like that lieberman woman, the "hillraiser."

Yep! HP stock went up seven bucks the day after she was fired. You can't argue with success!

And... Is her call for the government to force insurance companies to cover birth control really gaining all those Catholic Hillary voters for McCain? Really?

I don't think the McCain campaign knows what year it is, or what planet they're on!

Keep a low profile, Carly - remember what you did to HP, and employee morale when you ran HP, nearly into the ground??

I was working contract at Compaq when HP bought them out. I thought she was full of it then.

What is it about the Republican party and business failures?

The Peter Principle in full bloom?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:16 PM on 07/16/2008

They elevate business failures to the highest levels, e.g., GW Boosh, who failed at everything he ever did before his current colossal failure.

Lady Lynn Forester de Rothchild and her like want to buy influence. They don't care about the politics because they are rich - it's about influence and about being invited to the White House parties.
Lady Lynn was interviewed for a CNN piece where she basically said Obama needed to kiss her ass if he wanted her to "work for him", and had the gall to call him an elitist. Honey, look it up in the dictionary and your picture might just be there. Of course on CNN they simply identified her as "Lynn Forester" to make her seem more the common woman.
