It's funny but Obama does get a free ride from the media as they are afraid to touch him & be called a racist. When it comes to McCain, they love making fun of him but Jib Jab is hilarious.

Because there is no need to touch his race. There is plenty they can make fun of they use to make fun of his naievete but had to stop because a lot of what he says is happening. They use to make fun of the fact that he is not tough in fact they called him Bambi but had to stop because he has shown that he is tough. Its seriously disturbing that people think they need to make fun of his race in order to make fun of him there is plenty they can use his rockstar status for one. His message of change is another. Furthermore the only way to make fun of his race is if you say he is a mixed up or somethign to that effect. You can talk about his diversity and make fun of it. The problem is that end up NOT being funny like the New Yorker cover. Its a lack of creativity and talent. There are a lot of talentless hacks running around.

Just because the media is not peppering Barack Obama with racial slurs 24/7 to the misgivings of bigots doesn't mean he's getting a free ride. Most sensible people would argue that it is John McCain who has been given his free ride.
