Pollsters Say McCain Yoked To Legacy Of President Bush

Buried in the latest NY Times/CBS poll that focuses on race and the presidential race, is a nugget on how many Americans associate presumptive GOP candidate John McCain with President Bush:

The poll found that Mr. McCain is yoked to the legacy of President Bush -- majorities believe that Mr. McCain, as president, would continue Mr. Bush's policies in Iraq and on the economy. Mr. Bush's approval rating on the economy is as low as it has been in his presidency, 20 percent; and even while there has been an increase in the number of Americans who think the war is going well, there has been no change in the significantly large number of people who think it was a mistake to have invaded.

I am an Arizonan who knows that McCain has sold his soul to the devil. Remember not that long ago when McCain was running against Bush, the Bush campaign branded McCain as that guy with the illegitimate black daughter? How times have changed! What self-respecting guy can kiss up to a group that does that? Has McCain no pride? Remember too: McCain couldn't even beat Bush back then! Do we want a guy who couldn't even beat George Bush? McCain now claims he doesn't embrace Bush although he voted with Bush 95% of the time (when he showed up to vote) and wants to prolong the Bush agony 100 years or so. McCain = Bush is SO right! .Prolong war at great peril to the American taxpayer and the economy itself but stick it to the American soldier. That's Bush's legacy... and unfortunately McCain's too. Is this McCain's way of shoving it back at the Navy, who wouldn't promote McCain to Admiral so he could be like his daddy and granddaddy? We've endured almost 8 years of a prez who tries to live up to daddy. Bush should have seen a shrink instead of run for president. McCain should be doing the same.
