McCain Attended Zero Afghanistan Hearings In Last Two Years

ABC News reports that McCain has attended zero of his Senate committee's six hearings on Afghanistan in the last two years:

The McCain campaign criticism of Sen. Barack Obama's hearing record on Capitol Hill led us to put the shoe on the other foot.

It turns out that presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, has attended even fewer Afghanistan-related Senate hearings over the past two years than Obama's one. Which is a nice way of saying, McCain, R-Ariz., the top Republican on the Senate Armed Service Committee, has attended zero of his committee's six hearings on Afghanistan over the last two years...

...The findings are surprising given the fact that the McCain campaign loudly criticized Obama this week for failing to schedule any hearings on Afghanistan in the last year and a half. Obama chairs the European Affairs Subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which has oversight of military operations in Afghanistan.

The American public believes the war in Afghanistan is far more essential to the war on terror than the war in Iraq: 51% believe the U.S. must win the war in Afghanistan to succeed in the war on terror, whereas only 34% feel the same about the Iraq war.

a.- He had already bought his rugs in the Iraqi market.

b.- Probably thought he had to speak Pashto to attend the meetings.

c.- Forgets where the Senate is located.

d.- Thought Afghanistan hasn't been a country for the last 15 years.

This website is so cutting edge, it's sometimes dysfunctional. I have no broadband. When the site is doing its push refresh (if that's the right terminology), which it does about every three minutes under heavy traffic, my vertical slider and my cursor will be hung up for twenty seconds sometimes. Sometimes a refresh comes in just as I'm about to click on a link, and a different link appears under the cursor before I can avoid the action, causing me to jump off somewhere I didn't intend to go. Also a little too "cutting edge" are those links which jump off to one of the alternate main pages like Politics, and then don't come up on the targeted story, so you have to search a completely different layout for it. In addition, in Firefox running on the Mac, the "Preview" and "Post" buttons are not visible at all, although it's not too difficult to tell where they are.

It's amazing how McCain and his campaign doesn't fact check the Arizona Senator's records and deeds previous to calling out Obama. It seems to be a habit that he blames Obama for things he himself is guilty of and sometimes on a grander scale. They just don't seem very intelligent in some areas. This seems to happen on a regular basis.
