ABC News, Washington Post Withheld Results Of Poll Favorable To Obama

ABC News and The Washington Post issued staggered releases of the results of their latest poll, withholding from their first release results favorable to Sen. Barack Obama, including the finding that 50 percent of registered voters would vote for Obama for president versus 42 percent for Sen. John McCain. The next day, the Post ran an article headlined "Poll Finds Voters Split on Candidates' Iraq-Pullout Positions," which did not mention Obama's 8-point lead over McCain. Later that day, ABC News and the Post issued a second release with additional poll results that stated: "Obama continues to hold most of the advantages in the presidential race."

I cannot understand why any of MSM doesn't come out with the real news and not versions of what they want us to know. But I also canot abide with MSM giving Mccain continuing passes and mulligans when he screws up! The obvious refusal to show and comment on the many negatives is not honoring the other "heros" now or in the past.Mccai­ns time as a POW has not one thing to do with him as a person who left his first wife after all she did for him and was seriously injured while he ran around on her, and ir has not a thing to do with his poor performance as a Senator with the Keating incident and his poor support for both vets and women by voting againest bill for each one.

Generic question I throw out there... why would the Washington Post not report something favorable to Barack?

It seems that Arianna is right in that there is a MSM "conspiracy," if you will, to help Senator McCain but why such so-called moderate left papers like the WP or even NYT? CNN, which used to favorable to Ckinton years ago has adopted some pretty arch conservative commentatotors. Only MSNBC has anything that is "fair and balanced" and that includes Joe Scarborough.

ABC gave up its neutral credentials years ago and the Associated Press is a disguised mouthpiece for GOP positions.

Someone - please answer because we are going to hell in a hand basket!

In all fairness, as the results were significantly differerent than passed polls, perhaps they wanted to talk a day or so to recheck the results. Of course, if that was the case, they should have sat on the whole thing while checking it out.

And even with all their tinkering, RCP flipped Michigan this week. That means if Ohio flips on RCP, and the latest polls have Obama up 8, (RCP 4) then Obama will be leading in enough states to reach 270 before the conventions.
