Michelle

Washington state's GOP "welcomes" Michelle Obama to the state by highlighting her remarks about being proud of her country for the first time. The comment is contrasted with a diverse group of Republican women declaring they've always been proud of their country and saying the pledge of allegiance.

[WATCH]

The Tennessee GOP took this tack back in May -- right down to the "welcoming" press release.

The Politico reports that the Obama's campaign responded, saying John McCain should curb these attacks or take responsibility for them. McCain hasn't replied, but the Republican National Committee is not apologetic: "Is Barack Obama going to speak to his operative's attacks against Cindy McCain? The WA GOP's actions were completely independent of the McCain campaign and RNC, the same cannot be said for Obama's handpicked spokesperson at the DNC."

Yesterday, Obama told Glamour that attacks on his wife were "infuriating."

I love how Fox News has to tagline Michelle with "Barack Obama's Wife." Chances are, if you watch either CNN or Fox, you know who the wives of the two main presidential candidates are. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have said Cindy McCain, "John McCain's Wife". If the first lady candidate doesn't have a good fit for that office, she'll drag her husband down (Ask John Kerry.)

Set up the MO Fearmonger Fund. Everytime Michelle is trashed people contribute $1, $10, whatever to the Modus Oparendi Fearmonger Fund: Not the First Time Patriotic Fund to haul in money off the fearmonger and racial sleight of hand of the Corruptionist Party, where Racism is the New Patriotism.

As A Washington resident & former Republican.. I can assure you we ALREADY welcomed Mrs. Obama to our state a few months ago.

She appeared in Spokane the same day as Mrs Clinton.

Mrs. Obama's crowd filled a large concern hall, thousands.
Mrs. Clinton's crowd filled a small cafeteria, hundreds.

What a lame ad!

and these hacks wonder why their party membership is so small in WA state? Interesting that they must have muted Michelle saying the word "really" before "proud" as in "I'm really proud" vs. "I'm proud". But maybe Mr. Rove gave them some directions.

McCain has stated several times that he "didn't love America" until during his time as a POW; not during his upbringing; not when he joined the military; not during a large portion of his young adulthood. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd8IiK6KkW4
McCain said this once in an interview with Sean Hannity, and Fox news went so far as to initially scrub the statement from it's transcript of the interview.
By the way, here's McCain admitting that his personal ambitions have at times trumped putting "Country first".

To all those jumping on the blahblah bandwagon, note thaat Obama has only one wife. She is intelligent and moral. And she has never said anything about this country that this old redneck hasn't said.
There is a big difference between a patriot and a silly jingoist. A patriot is hurt by the wrong doings of his nation, a jingoist is blind to them.
A patriot wants to improve his nation, a jingoist wants to keep it as is.
A patriot is moltivated by love and hope, a jingoist by hate and fear.
A patriot might be a brave warrior while a jingoist is best described as a bully.
A patriot might be a Webb, a Hagel, or a McGovern, but a jingoist is likely to be a chickenhawk such as Wolfowitz, Libby, Feith, or Dubya.
Are you proud of GWB's Chickenhawk war?
This old redneck ain't. But I'm really proud of the nation's young people who have stood up and called it what it is. I am ashamed of most Republicans and DLC types, but I'm proud of the stance taken by Robert Byrd, by Barack Obama, by Webb, Hagel, and Gore.
And I'll be really, really proud when Obama wins in November!

I just finished reading "The Audacity of Hope", Senator Obama's book about his vision for the future of the United States.

The very last line, the summation of his entire political viewpoint is:

"My heart is filled with love for this country."

Am I the only one that noticed the direction the flag was waving? I know it is "nitpicking" but the Republicans are always up in arms if the flag is presented in the wrong direction. "Proper" code is that the flag is presented with the stars on the left. This video shows the stars on the right. Would it have taken the person too much time to walk around to the other side to shoot it to where the stars would be on the left?

I just thinks it's ironic that they, who claim to be holier than thou when it comes to proper presentation of the flag and patriotism, do something so stupid.

Washington is going to go pretty heavily for O so I'm not sure what their reasoning behind this even is.

The GOP doesn't give a rat's behind about women; just look at these attacks. Ohhh, and for you PUMAs out there, this is for you.

Don't worry about the "PUMA's". The vast majority of these people are Republicans who are trying to take some Democrats down with them. No rational Democrat who voted for HER will vote for the Manchurian candidate.

She said "really" proud. Not just proud.

I'm guessing that you all feel the same contempt for John McCain "who didn't love america, until he was parted from her company"

I've NEVER even left the country, and IM proud of my country. Only an elitist thinks you have to leave to love this country.

Thanks Republicans- had you not played this so much it might've had impact in the fall- Instead you looped it 100 times and now it's old news so the news won't cover it. Thanks fo helping us get wright over with too-

Oh, right-wing, when will you ever learn. LOL (roll credits)

As a Washington resident I am truly sad to see this video ,but not surprised. Please do not worry though these perverts will not prevail in November.

Go Obama!!!!

That's closer to jingoism than patriotism.
