Jon Stewart Measures Candidates' Success Wooing Hispanics With Dobbs-O-Meter: "The Angrier Lou Dobbs Gets, The Better You're Doing"

On Thursday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart instituted a "Dobbs-o-Meter" to measure the presidential candidates' success in wooing Hispanic voters. "The best way to measure success in wooing the Latino community," Stewart says, "is by using the Dobbs-O-Meter: the angrier Lou Dobbs gets, the better you're doing." Stewart showed clips from the past week, during which the candidates reached out to Hispanic voters through the National Council of La Raza, and with each statement showed Dobbs' head growing larger and redder until it eventually exploded.

But alas, fair game for a wit like Stewart who makes no excuses for the media or his comedic approach to the damage they do to America. Don't worry, the immigrants will learn english. So, unless I plan on traveling to a spanish speanking nation, why would I teach my children spanish? why not Italian, french, etc? If all the immigrants are learing english why are my children going to need spanish? though I believe that everyone who comes here has to learn English, I think again Americans tend to be elitist No where in the globe do one nation only know one language. It's a betterment to learn another language, it's a way to communication with people not like you...or is that what America stands for, not being diverse? Wake up American and learn to live in a global world. You need these skills because everyone has 2-6 languages and are getting your jobs because they aren't thinking in the box, but outside of it! Two things: Americans aren't quite as stupid and ignorant as you assume; and the whole spasm of attention it's received serves to make radioactive the attacks portrayed in the cartoon: attacks with those themes will seem increasingly absurd, the cartoon providing a context within which to see this absurdity -- I'm sure of it, and I think it's also vital that we all keep our sense of humor strong in these tough times, lest we fall prey to the same politics of fear and division the satire portrays.

Since I see no politician who is all about anti-illegal aliens winning any primary, I take it America is more concerned about other things. 95% of the wealth of this country is owned by a few thousand families, the same ones who are the majority stockholders in such companies as Exxon, Halliburton, Bechtel, etc. It is they who have increased your work quota while simultaneously lowering, eliminating, or leaving your pay stagnant. It is they who have outsourced your job creating McJobs instead of decent paying jobs. It is they who have petitioned the Supreme Court to rule against Massachussets and other states who tried to reduce the Medicaid and Medicare costs to their state's citizens by buying pharmaceuticals in Canada in bulk to pass on the savings to them. In this rich country if you have not educated yourself so that you are competing for jobs above those the illegal aliens are employed in, it is your fault alone. The Constitution of the North American Union is the primary agenda that Dobb's probably
isn't allowed to speak of very much. It is biased toward the better interests of the banks and

The amount of non mexicans willing to do us harm has been astounding before and since 9/11 but do we hear about them?
