White House Accidentally E-Mails Story On Iraqi PM Backing Obama Withdrawal Plan To Reporters

As Reuters reported earlier today, Iraqi Prime Minister al-Maliki has voiced his support for Obama's withdrawal plan. Needless to say, such support is not a PR victory for the Bush administration. And so it was no doubt embarrassing when, according to ABC's Jake Tapper, the White House sent the article--accidentally--to reporters:

The White House this afternoon accidentally sent to its extensive distribution list a Reuters story headlined "Iraqi PM backs Obama troop exit plan - magazine." [...}

The White House employee had intended to send the article to an internal distribution list, ABC News' Martha Raddatz reports, but hit the wrong button.

The misfire comes at an odd time for Bush foreign policy, at a time when Obama's campaign alleges the president is moving closer toward Obama's recommendations about international relations -- sending more U.S. troops to Afghanistan, discussing a "general time horizon" for U.S. troop withdrawal and launching talks with Iran.

Minister el Maliki and Pres. Bush have been talking about this already....Not setting a definite date but pulling out troops according to what is happening on the ground there.

Why is B. Obama and the Dems trying to steal everybody elses thunder..... How many times have they already started singing a different tune. Originally B. Obama wanted to bring the troops home immediately. Now he wants to shift them from Iraq to Afghanistan.
What is the difference??? WAR IS WAR no matter where it starts or ends.
Does he think that they will be in Afghanistan for only a week or two...Get a grip if you think that.
It would be nice to know what the true policies are instead of all the flip-flopping since he and Hillary
started going at it a few months ago. Now it seems that they have banded together and are jumping
on somebody elses bandwagon.....
WHAT IS THEIR TRUE AGENDA...ANY GOOD SPEAKER CAN READ A SPEECH WRITER'S WORDS.

Iraq is already treating Obama as though he is the president. I say we all do the same come November.

I read both articles first he did ( Malaki) then he didn't . If you read both articles he did, in principle agree to O's plan. "Endorse" is a political hot button term and he was apprised of that I am sure.

The real point is that no matter what, they/we are even talking about a time line, is a good thing. When O first stated his plan two years ago, it would have been a disaster. No it is a good possibility.
