Mitt Romney appeared on MSNBC this week, insisting that John McCain "authored" the Iraq troop surge. McCain, although an early surge supporter, did not write the plan. Why is Mitt Romney lying for someone other than himself? Could it be that it's time for John McCain to pick the person who will take over if (okay, let's face it, when) he dies in office?

I hope they choose him. A corporate raider should be very popular with working class, white, Chris Matthews type voters.

Yeah Romney would be excellent. He never met a position that he stuck to and Middle America would love to know how many people he's put out of work in his illustrious career. Yes, he can travel the rust belt and look at all the jobs he outsourced, in this economic environment I'm sure that would play well in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
