Perhaps on the heels of the successful "Good Morning America" series, "I Dare You," in which the ABC morning show co-hosts dared each other to face their fears, NBC's "Today" show appears to be prepping a similar feature. And co-host Ann Curry was spotted doing stand-up comedy at New York's Caroline's comedy club to face her (ironic) fear: public speaking.

Ann Curry has been moonlighting as a stand-up comic. The soft-spoken "Today" show host shocked the audience when she walked onstage at Caroline's on Broadway the other night and performed a set. "She had a camera crew from the show with her," said our spy. "She was filming a segment on facing your worst fears, and hers is public speaking, so she did stand-up." Curry was a huge hit, with a style similar to Margaret Cho, our source said. "Ann imitated her mother, who is Japanese. It was hilarious. She got great laughs. She also talked about how people come up to her on the street, and leave telling each other how nice it was to meet Connie Chung. She's really very funny and you wouldn't expect it." Curry spent weeks prior to her official debut rehearsing at the Comic Strip with Gilbert Gottfried, who coached her.
In February, GMA's Robin Roberts, who is battling breast cancer, walked the catwalk at an Isaac Mizrahi fashion show without her wig as part of the series, which also featured Diane Sawyer walking across hot coals and Chris Cuomo jumping from a 51-story building.
