Wow, you had my hopes up. I was expecting an actual joke against Obama.

Instead, the B.O.-related jokes picked on Jesse Jackson, McCain, and the Obama-is-Muslim rumors.

The remaining jokes were anti-Bush, -Larry Craig, and -Phil Gramm.

Unreal. Even the Pope gets picked on by late night comics. But not B.O.

Do you know about Mark McKinnon, the member of the McCain team who vowed to quit if Obama became the Democratic nominee, and subsequently kept the promise? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/mccain.html

Obama's different. I don't know what it is exactly about him, but he is.

Ouuu, I needed something to laugh about before I go to sleep. Sure wish George Carlin was around to catch all of this...and comment! Well, he's got them laughing in heaven, and it's heavenly.

I've always known it, but every time Letterman does this I realize just how big of a goober we have for a president. HOW did the 51/2 percent ever convince themselves to vote for this embarrassment of a president?

I'll NEVER understand it.

Ya know, it's not that poor black kids have no opportunities in America. It's that their opportunities are so severely restricted compared to every one else. Horribly depressing schools, the lowest paid teachers, the highest rate of crime in the country, and though not likely to be attacked by wild animals as kids in Africa.... still far, far more likely to be attacked on the way to and from school than kids in the whiter neighborhoods.

Everyone who wants to shut down the use of the n word completely, no matter what the context is missing the point. The word is not evil in and of itself. No word is evil in and of itself. It's only the context that makes the n word racist word or a term of endearment.

What will David Letterman do when Bush is gone? This is the funniest part of his show.

I don't want to appear disrespectful or partisan, but why do the Republicans insist in putting really, really stupid people up for election? Seriously. It's a little spoken about but profound issue that doesn't get near enough critical examination.

Bush can barely string two words together without losing track if his original point, if indeed he had any in the first place. McCain graduated out of naval academy in the bottom 1% of his class. None of this would matter much if they were toilet attendants at Ozzfest, but the jobs they're going for - and they're on a shortlist of two - are kinda complicated, you know?

Those who are not very bright are quite tractable if yuo persuade them that in fact they are smart but they hide it well and should keep it hidden. You tell them the others are all really stupid but they should not insult America but calling it stupid.

You also pick people whose ego is inflated by inetrnal conversations that indicate to them they are smarter than they imagine everyone else. Evey time they internally argue with someone they win, therefore they are smart.

Bush is an easily manipulated puppet. He's not smart, and he stupidly believes he's surrounded by smart people. Funny how Daddy has kept his distance. I wonder if he was TOLD to stay away.

Speaking of Senator Larry Craig;I'm a Minnesotan and I can't stand any more of the "Republican" family values. First still "Senator" Larry Craig flew into our air port and propositioned a male undercover cop in one of our bathrooms; now the republicans have succeeded in pushing back our bars closing hours so they can drink until four in the morning. Seems like the Jokes on all of US.

You know, the president has gotten better at speaking and he still makes the gag reel. I'm not joking, I honestly wonder what his IQ is.

Well, we have all witnessed for two terms a real "weapon of mass destruction"! Since it does not seem we will be able to abort him before he completes his term, let's pray he does not do even greater damage before he returns to the "brown brown grass of home"! OH.....God bless America!

Nations usually get the leadership they deserve. This nation put this .... in the W/H twice, yes twice; thanks to the Flat Earth Society, Goober Nation, West Virginia, ....... In November we'll see if the trend continues.

It is pure contempt that after the comedy of almost 8 years, the Rep's candidate for POTUS s less informed, more war-driven, more mentally challenged, in short, SCARIER than the current WH resident.

The potential for disaster is daunting.
