On Fox News Sunday, Joe Lieberman said he would speak at the Republican National Convention if John McCain wants him to.

"I'm not gonna go to attack Barack Obama," Lieberman said. "I'm gonna go to explain why I, as an Independent Democrat, am supporting John McCain, hoping I can convince other Independents and Democrats to join me in choosing the man who is clearly more ready to be the president America needs."

A sad, tired old man, desparate for a little attention.

Which, when you come to think about it, also could be used to describe the republican party in its entirety!

He could say, " I bid you all, goodbye. I am leaving my weighty public duties for a life of contemplation and meditation." Nothing else he says could impress me one bit.

Lieberman will go down with his GOP ship in November - removed not only from his chairmanships but from many of the senatorial friendships he enjoyed. His next election - he won't run, trust me. In fact, that's why he's thrown in with the GOP - it's the only PRESS he can get. And Lieberman's a very vain man.

And with a history of being a traitor I've noticed the GOP hasn't spent too much money marketing Joe's and the GOP Party's newfound alliance.

Did you have the same feelings for Sen. Jim Jeffers?

So you support all rethug policies? Jeffers decided (correctly) the rethug party was doing wrong. He put nation before party. (Must be too complex a moral issue for you to grasp.) Democratic voters in Connecticut decided anyone pro-invasion and endless occupation was the wrong person to represent them. Where's your problem with that? Isn't an election about choice?

Jim Jeffers had principles, Lieberman has none.

Was Jim Jeffers an unabashed hysterical lobbyiest for a foreign country while still in the U.S. Senate?

There is a silver lining to this cloud. Democrats could launch a campaign, using Lieberman as the example, to encourage more Republican Senators and Representatives who really do not think McCain would be the better president to speak out. I bet Democrats would get more Republicans, and Republicans would be stuck with just Joe.

SO THE TRAITOR IS BEGGING TO BE ADOPTED BY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Plese remember this one thing about Joe L."

"Independent Democrat"??? He doesn't know what he is.

McCain is NOT ready to be President. If he can't control what he says, how is he going to control what he does? We don't need another president who thinks he's funny and laughs at his own "jokes." Is Joe going to follow McCain everywhere to correct his mistakes. We need someone who will take our problems seriously and improve our image around the world.

Does this man not realize how utterly despised he is among democrats? How dare he call himself a democrat. He is not a democrat. I can think of some really choice words to describe him, but democrat is definitely not one of them.

It is worth remembering that Lieberman wrote an article in the New York Post on February 3, 2008 encouraging people to support McCain and saying he was the only one with the experience and character to be president. I hope the supporters of Hillary Clinton will stop and think; Leiberman was endorsing McCain over Clinton.

In fact he was endorsing McCain back in December before the primaries began. In other words he thought none of the Democratic candidates, eg Edwards, Richardson, Dodd, Biden, had the right credentials. Really??

Time will tell if Lieberman is going to be McCain's "Cheney" or "Rove". He is planning on using McCain to push his own Middle East agenda. He is not supporting McCain but using McCain.

Where do we get them? Well, this is the worst-case scenario when you support "blue dog" Democrats. All they are is Republicans who need a "D" after their name to get elected.

The more Democrats stay true to their liberal roots, the more the American people like them and elect them. It's when they turn into cowards like Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and company that they end up with approval ratings in the single digits.

You know who has high approval ratings in Congress? Senator Bernie Sanders, a SOCIALIST. Also, Russ Feingold, the most liberal senator - his approval ratings are very high.

It's a shame they're mostly such cowards, because if the Democrats had come in 2006 and ended the war and impeached Bush and Cheney, their approval ratings would be through the roof. For a change, the American people are way to the Left of our elected representatives.

'They' find them in and around the Democratic party, where they're always found. The Democrats are the only ones that allow such turncoats in their midst, The Republicans would have driven any member acting like Lieberman from their party long ago.

Yep, the Republican would have had a "Come-to-Jesus Party" for Lieberman if he were a Repub rather than a democrat.

After the election they will drop him like a hot potato

Really? Ron Paul comes to mind... but you are right Dr. Paul would never be considered VP material by the GOP! Dr. Ron Paul is as old as McCain, yet wiser than anybody in congress right now! So age is not the issue... integrity is! My American Dream Ticket: Obama/Paul... my God! Talk about a revolution!

There you have it, he is a declared republican. What more do you dems in congress need? Nevermind, he sees Rove, Bush and Cheney pushing you around the school yard and knows he can milk both sides at will.

There's nothing to be done until after the election. He knows it. We know it.

So we listen to his dribble. Smile at him.

Oh-A-Layee-O-A-Layee-O-A-Layee
Hoo"
