Buried in an article on the veep-vetting process comes this piece of information:

Democrats said they thought it was less likely now than it was a month ago that Mr. Obama would choose Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York as his running mate, though they said she remained in consideration and that she was being vetted.

If he does not choose Mrs. Clinton, several Democrats said, it would be difficult for him to name any woman -- like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, someone for whom he has had warm words. Both Clinton and Obama advisers said such a move could create a backlash among women who supported Mrs. Clinton.

Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson said recently that she was not being vetted "as far as I know." The Huffington Post reported on Hillraisers who aren't bundling money for Obama but say they would if he picked Clinton for VP.

Buried in an article on the veep-vetting process comes this piece of information: Democrats said they thought it was less likely now than it was a month ago that Mr. Obama would choose Senator Hilla...

If choosing Kathleen Sebelius causes a backlash among Hillary Women so what? That simply shows how they have been drinking the Clinton Cool-aide, the same thing the Hillary supporters accused Obama's supporters of doing. Those women are really a bunch of cranky old thangs. Who cares? If Kathleen is right for the job, let's get her signed up!!

Who cares ? well if all you say is true , why would Sebelius want to be on the losing team ?

But , go ahead , you get her signed up .

We are not idiots we know you are in the minority along with some instigating Republican's in here to stir things up and most of Hillary 's supporters do have a brain and do care about our country .They will stick with the party ! They are not cry babies like you who can't seem to accept defeat and become team players like the rest of us and save this country from the likes of McCain who would only be another Bush !

I honestly don't think Obama needs to worry about Hillary's doners when he has a huge amount of backer to his campaign in comparison to what Hillary ever had in fact he has only received $20,000 from Hillary supporters ! What Obama needs to consider is would he still get those big doners with Hillary on the ticket ?
Another consideration is who is actually behind PUMA the group of Hillary supporters who are all over the internet spreading anti Obama messages and propaganda .Being a Native American person I saw in the Cherokee News some of their dirty work and unfortunately they allowed PUMA to put up a link to their blog and their site .Some pretty nasty stiff coming from those people who plan to marrch on Denver and try to sway deligates to change their minds and vote for Clinton. These people are rapid they would rather see McCain win than Obama and it would be good to know just who is really behind all this .Has Hillary given up her bid or is she still working behind the scenes to try and distroy Obama's win? If these people really were Hillary supporters like they say they were then why if Hillary really is backing Obama haven't they done so as well ? That question has one of two answers 1.they never were Democrats for Hillary or 2.Hillary is not backing Obama, either way these people are obnoxious hate mongerers Obama needs to watch out for !

That is just crazy. Don't you understand that Obama needs to pull the party together and that he needs a whole lot of money? Why would you toss out all those votes and all those dollars? This stuff does not help. If you want to play at the keyboard for a while, go to www.barackobama.com and send some $$$.

presto Obama isn't the one who needs to work on pulling the party together Hillary is ! Obama people are for the party and we do accept those Hillary supporters who are for country first and candidate second .Its some of these Hillary supporters who can't accept her loss who are joining PUMA and posting nasty negative propaganda about Obama in these blogs who need to pull together with the rest of us for the party and the only person who can help to do that is Hillary not Obama who they villanize every chance they get and Hillary is not doing it .Why is that ?

I don't know what "Cherokee News" you are reading but I guarantee it's not the official Cherokee newspaper, the Phoenix, or the real Cherokee Nation website. Our Principal Chief is on record as saying that Senator Obama would make a fine President for Indian country because he has stood up to Rep Diane Watson and her CBC cohorts regarding our right to determine our own citizenship. He doesn't just mouth "sovereignty", he understands self-determination.

NDNlady I am so happy to hear that your chief doesn't agree with this Mike who posts articles in the First Peoples News ( enews) I get and claims to be Cherokee . I joined the yahoo group to get the news not to read Obama bashing but that is what I have read in the blogs and in some of the enews letters ! This was the title of on of the articles >
Native Americans Against Obama- First American Terrorist
Obama has not seen fit to sign on to the holiday bill Hillary has.
Along with this was a link to a UTube video about Columbus being the the first American terrorist .
When I follow a link on the news site to the blogs I can see the PUMA links on the side and I read all kinds of nasty anti Obama posts. I wrote this guy directly and he used some of the most offensive language in his email to me even after I told him I was a woman and an elder ,,he showed no respect .This is this guys email address aol.comROKEE@aol.com Now if this guy is a fake infiltrating the Native group then he is doing a good job of spreading hate in the name of the Cherokee nation !

First, division within the political system. The seemingly insurmountable polarization of right and left. Now, division within the Democratic party. Childish division. "If my candidate doesn't win I won't play anymore."
I keep thinking of the words ... "Divide and Conquer," and they've been echoing over this country for eight years now. I'm not sure whom the conquerors are. Fear and ignorance, perhaps.

Obama is going to lose because he doesn't embrace the cynical school of Clinton triangulation? The Clintons are the shining example of everything Obama has been campaigning against. Hillary is part of the same infection. That's why she lost: People simply couldn't believe a word that came out of either of her mouths. Obama may indeed lose (and no doubt the Clintons are busy doing everything they can behind the scenes to assure his loss), but better to lose without her than win with her and become part of the Clinton's ugly world.

I don't know why Diane Feinstein has never been mentioned. She's impressive, well informed, and could assume the presidency seamlessly. Clinton is an able politician, but her chances of becoming a loyal subordinate to a younger man she verbally trashed seem remote.

I don't see how Obama can invite her to join him on the ticket, with the lingering memory of "I've got a lifetime of experience, Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience, Senator Obama has a speech" poisoning the atmosphere (and potentially airwaves in recycled GOP clips) like a toxic curtain. Her graceless and delayed concession didn't help. Obama has a good chance of being elected; if he is president, it would be a disaster if he had to use precious energy to watch his back. As a constituent of Clinton's in New York--I voted for her twice--there is the additional factor that despite fly-in votes, she has given short shrift to her adopted state in the last year and a half. We desperately need two fully engaged senators; the state is hurting, and after using our state as a career trajectory, she seems not to be working regionally beyond the bare minimum. One last cynical point: these Hillraisers are being publicly exhorted to support the Democratic nominee, but private conversations, mostly by proxie, are reported to be quite different. There are still serious conversations about how to use a roll call vote in Denver to undercut Obama and to pave the way for a Clinton 2012 run. Obama has a choice between cutting his losses now and repenting at leisure for years.

Obama is way too smart to tap Clinton for VP. She fought a dirty campaign, dug her own hole, and is tightly tied to the bullheaded polcies of the failed past. If the unthinkable happened and she became vice president, she would instead try to act as CO-president, which would be a very different, dangerous, and destructive thing. Hill & Bill need to go home, wrap themselves in Bill's money, and take a long nap. The pathetic screeching of diehard Clintonistas will not mean squat to the election results, and they know it; that's why they're so loud.. Let them cry, it'll be a good lesson in maturity. Or not.

Ponder this: If Clinton had won the primary and Obama or his supporters were wrangling for the VP spot, nobody on earth would take it seriously.

I think a lot of so-called feminists who are hanging on to their resentments about Obama defeating Hillary might come around if he picked another woman, like Sebelius. If they truly care about the issues they have to. I think that the pathetic minority who won't vote for him unless he picks Hillary is really small.

I agree. They make a big fuss online but I don't even know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who is pulling this "boycott the elections" B.S. Most women aren't going to cut off their nose to spite their face.

But there are always your stereotypical women who make the rest of us ladies look bad. Spitefull, hysterical, vindictive. Willing to screw over the entire WORLD just because their pet candidate lost. That's why men didn't let us vote in the FIRST place. Now these woman are reinforcing every horrible stereotype that exists for women voters that men used as an excuse to keep us out of the polls in the first place. Women had to spend a century overcoming this pathetic depitction and achieve suffrage, but now these pro-HRC boycott women think that that is actually the way women SHOULD behave. It is embarassing.

Plus I thought voting against your interests was supposed to be the southern Republican woman's domain? But hey, aparently these women think THAT'S the way to go!

Oh please those women aren't feminists. They may think they are but if they really were they'd know that every woman's rights organization in the country rates McCain a 0% in his treatment of women's issues like equal pay or access to birth control and endorses Obama.
NO self respecting feminist would want McCain to take the White House. Those women who are boycotting the election or voting McCain while actually being against him are self invovled idiots who don't care at ALL about women's rights, or the world for that matter.

I know all of you Obama lovers cringe when i say this, but Obama's best hope for a landslide victory in the fall is to choose Clinton as a running mate. The way he is sputtering at times, with his race much too close for comfort against McCain, he could really use her 18 million voters and her guts.

Why do you insult the people who voted for Hillary? They are not an army of mindless zombies who all think and act alike. They are individuals who can think for themselves. And many have already decided to vote for Obama. There are those in the vocal minority, which is where you are, who just can't let go of Hillary and are demanding she be put on the ticket. But I'm sorry to tell you it's just not gonna happen.

Her guts? Do her guts mean her lie about the sniper fire in Bosnia? Her lie about being a concerned mother when Chelsea was jogging near the Twin Towers on 9/11? Her guts to claim that she didn't support NAFTA during her husband's presidency? Her guts to make the remarkably damaging statement that only she and John McCain have foreign policy experience and all Obama has is a speech? On top of that, she has way too much dirty laundry, and I don't want to give the Republicans that ammunition. If her 18 million voters think that we'd be better off with John McCain, then she apparently appealed to the stupid voting block. Personally, I don't think her supporters are that short-sighted and expect them to vote for the candidate who is best for the country.

I doubt very much it's going to be a woman. As it is, Democrats are asking the same Americans who voted for Bush twice to elect the nation's first African American president, and you think we should also ask them to elect the first woman vice president? I'd like to think it doesn't matter to most people, but I don't believe that's true for one second.

I would still vote for Obama regardless of his running mate, though I'd have to hold my nose if it were you know who.

More important, Clinton on his ticket would mobilize the Republicans to come out and vote - against her. The ones who don't have enough enthusiasm for McCain to drag themselves to the polls would be newly energized.

Clinton would hurt Obama's chances in November. That's why the Republicans were dying to run against her.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:55 PM on 07/22/2008

NO they would not! Stop that bs meme already. The GOP is divided about more things than hillary clinton. Their candidate McCain is still a liberal Democrat. Even the "energized" GOP would be balanced out by the women and latinos who would actually turn out in greater numbers.

I find it interesting that the latest Rasmussen poll on this subject proves you are absolutely wrong. Obama/McCain = statistical dead heat. Clinton/McCain = Clinton beats the pants off McCain. As I understand, Rasmussen and other polling operations have agreed to continue monitoring these numbers and I sure hope the SuperDs who decide this nomination are paying close close attention!
