Buried in an article on the veep-vetting process comes this piece of information:

Democrats said they thought it was less likely now than it was a month ago that Mr. Obama would choose Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York as his running mate, though they said she remained in consideration and that she was being vetted.

If he does not choose Mrs. Clinton, several Democrats said, it would be difficult for him to name any woman -- like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, someone for whom he has had warm words. Both Clinton and Obama advisers said such a move could create a backlash among women who supported Mrs. Clinton.

Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson said recently that she was not being vetted "as far as I know." The Huffington Post reported on Hillraisers who aren't bundling money for Obama but say they would if he picked Clinton for VP.

I can't see Obama selecting Hillary as a running mate. I think he would feel like he would have to compete with her for the public's attention. I think he would want a VP who wouldbe a little more in the background. I don't see Hillary doing that.

Not a question if "she's vetted" question is, is Bill. Still not seen those library records.

Bill isn't running.

It does not make sense for Hillary Clinton to accept a position that, if offered, would allow her to cast a vote in the Senate only when there is a tie. She would do more good (for herself and for the country) keeping her Senate seat, where she can directly influence legislation and rise in the hierarchy in preparation for a run in 2016. She, herself, implied as much a couple of months ago.

It also does not make sense for either campaign, Obama's or Clinton's, to worry about die-hard Clinton supporters. Democratic women in general will not be offended if another woman is invited to share the ticket with Obama. I, for one, would be delighted to see the governor of Kansas as the VP nominee. If she is not chosen, it should not be because a small minority of Clinton supporters might be offended. It should be because Obama's national strategy for the general election requires a different VP candidate. What we should all be worried about this week is how to convince Congress to nationalize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mae, and to reintroduce a usury law. . .

She brings far, far, far, FAR more negatives than she does positives. She would drive away many current Obama supporters and would energize the Republicans like no one else can.

I was a Hillary supporter. And I was making every excuse to my family defending her position. But the way she went after Obama was just wrong. She has really disappointed me. I use to have a great amount respect her. But that is no longer the case. I will voted for Obama no matter who he pick as his VP. I just hope he is wise enough not to pick Hillary. She has proven she can't be trusted. I feel that the only reason she is considering being his VP is because she is hoping that he get killed and she can finnaly become President.

Exactly. Obama is not dumb enough to toss aside 18 million voters.

The money bundlers? Brives and politics. What a lovely combination, and what a great way to choose a VP.

I do not believe that Hillary Clinton would be a wise choice for Vice President. I simply don't trust her. Oh yes, I'm a woman, but you know what? I can think for myself.....and I think she is focused only on being {resident of The United States. The Vice Presidency would be seen merely as a stepping-stone, and I don't see her giving that job her full attention. I do see her and her husband as gathering their followers, consolidating power, and subtly undermining Obama's administration. We all saw her underhanded methods during the campaign....."Obama's not a Muslim....as far as I know....."

I can never forget what she said about Bobby Kennedy's assassination. I see it as a Freudian Slip,

Well put, MizLiz. I am also a woman in HRC's age bracket, 4 years older than she in fact. I am from the era where men were paid HALF AGAIN AS MUCH as a woman for doing MUCH LESS WORK!! (In the same jobs) I worked in retail and the girls did the repair work, the ordering, the receiving, the ironing, the inventories, the polishing of glass, the returns, and waited on customers as well. The men stood around and yakked if there were no customers. I would have been ecstatic to have a woman as President but NOT HRC. I refuse to accept anyone as MY President who stands there and supports a damned repukelican over her fellow Democrat! Hypocrite! Liar! Phony! Closet repu! I wonder what will happen if Bill's influence-peddling manages to turn the win over to her at the convention. I for one will join the street riots and then will leave this country in the hope of finding honesty elsewhere.

Hillary has done little to support Barak so far. Although she made a speech with him Hillary did not sound excited at all. She needs to continue hammering allot of the Democrats that are saying they will vote for Mc Cain. Hillary has not shown she is V.P. canidate because of her lack of support for Obama. Had Hillary come out swinging for Obama and continued and telling her highroller and others who threaten to vote for Mc Cain to strongly support Obama every day she would be the V.P. canidate. It is to LATE now for Hillary she has made little effort in supporting Barak.

What about the Clintons vs Peter Paul court case that's coming up in November? Maybe they should keep on vetting. Hillary may have to testify.

xoxox: Do you mean this Peter F. Paul? What about it? Paul is a proven scam artist and everyone knows it but you. Wise up.
“An audit by the Federal Elections Commission found that neither Senator Clinton nor her Senate campaign had accepted any illegal funds”.
“The appellate court specifying that her behavior had been "perfectly legal.”"

Yes, and then we get to see why Bill was able to push it up until AFTER the election. Wondering
what garbage will come to light and where will all the Hillary Supporters crawl to then?

The most important function of a VP is to first do no harm...Hillary has, still does and will do lots of harm to the presidency and this country. She has proven over and over it it about her and the Clinton agenda. Not to mention all of the toxic political baggage she and her husband bring to the table. Should regreatably, if Obama choses her, the GOP will be frothing at the mouth to pounce on all that baggage. lasly her and her husband are to polarizing. again they have to have center stage so playing 2nd teir isn't going to fly. Richardson, Hagle, Biden, Bayah, sebilous all would be waaaayyyy better choices. he Hill-Bills are not the only onns out there who are qualified. If Obama does chose her I will still vote for him....after throwing up a little in my mouth.
