***UPDATED BELOW***

By now, most political junkies know that Barack Obama raised a lot of money in June.

But his campaign's $52 million dollar take for the month becomes all the more impressive when considering the utter lack of help he received from Hillary Clinton's high-dollar fundraising machine. When comparing Obama's full FEC filing for June with a list of 311 "Hillraisers" -- or supporters who bundled more than $100,000 in contributions for Sen. Clinton -- the Huffington Post found only eight names in common between the two lists. Not all of those donors maxed out, either, making for a relatively paltry figure of $19,250 in direct, hard-money contributions from Hillraisers for the month.

That does not mean that only eight of Clinton's top donors have contributed to Obama since Clinton dropped out. Several dozen more Hillraisers are rumored to have donated in July, but those details will not be available until late August. Some other prominent Hillraisers, like Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, have hosted high-dollar events at their homes, drawing many more times the $4600 limit they each could have given individually by law.

But still, the fact that fewer than three percent of Clinton's donors have donated any money directly to Obama in his first month as presumptive nominee is likely to raise the eyebrows of some leaders in the Democratic Party who are hoping to see signs of unity. Clinton suspended her campaign in early June, and officially endorsed Barack Obama in a speech on June 7.

In addition, only a scattered few Hillraisers donated to the Democratic National Committee or its Victory Fund in June -- perhaps a more worrying development for the party as it tries to keep pace with its Republican counterpart. (Such checks to the party, however, can go as high as $28,500.)

A source close to the Clinton camp who spoke to the Huffington Post on background said the trend was not irreversible for the Obama campaign, however. "The best thing they can do to bring the Clinton people along is to hire Clinton finance staffers to work with their donors," the source said, adding that no high-level Clinton finance figures have been hired to work for the campaign. "There are some people [Hillraisers] who will never come over," the source conceded, "but some of the people just haven't been involved in the process [thus far]. ... And in a tight race, you need as many people as possible. It's a big deal."

The Huffington Post has reported previously on some of the most outspoken Hillraiser holdouts. And, it must be noted, the ultimate usefulness of some of these figures is not how much they donate personally, but whether they perform the hard work of organizing others to open their wallets. Still, individual contributions can be a sign of intent or enthusiasm.

Story continues below

Judging by the latest figures, there isn't much of either among Hillraisers at the moment.

The complete list of names for Hillraiser donors in June is below:

Obama for America: 8 Hillraisers

Gary Gensler
John Graham
Lorraine Hariton
Laurence Humphries
Pat Maloney Jr.
Amb. Arthur Schechter
Ann Stock
Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis

Victory Fund: 6 Hillraisers

Mark Aronchick
Clarence Avant
John Emerson
John Graham
Chad Griffin
Marc Nathanson

DNC: 4 Hillraisers

Rashid Chaudary
Gary Gensler
Amb. Arthur Schechter
Maureen White

LATE UPDATE: The Washington Post's The Trail blog offers another dimension to the picture. Scouring the latest FEC reports, they discovered a total of 2,200 individual Clinton donors -- as distinct from the smaller group of elite Hillraisers we tracked -- who became first-time Obama donors in June, and who donated $1.8 million of the $52 million total (or approximately four percent of the campaign's June take).

As we reported, Clinton and Obama sources described to the Post the fact that some bundlers may help fundraise without writing checks themselves. However, during our own review, it was clear that many more Hillraisers also wrote personal checks to Clinton, in addition to their bundling, than have currently done the same for Obama.

Who needs 'em anyway? This isn't their campaign, it's ours & we're doing just fine without their money or their meddling.

Get a real job .... Pay your own debts like we have to do. Seems like the dems are trying to buy the
election....the one with the most money wins...
We get the point already....Give some of that money you are spending wildly and give it to some of the
poor people that you say you want to help...

Are these politicians still getting paid from their Senate jobs that they have been absent from for
a long time.... Must be nice. A longgggggggggg vacation with pay and lots of travel.
It is hard to believe that Hillary and Barack spent so much money trying to beat each other and
now they are begging for more money to pay Hillary's debts...what a laugh. And she is begging for
money for Barack's campaign...Sure is expensive for the Dem's to buy the Presidency back.
Sure takes nerve to do that. Must be very insulting to the people who gave money to their campaign.

No kidding. Not only that, here's a family with over $100 million in assets that is now asking other people to pay off a $25 million debt that was run up by dragging the primary out.......at a time when a significant number of people in this country literally can't afford to drive to their jobs, eat, and won't be able to heat their homes in the winter.

Incidentally, these politicians who run up huge campaign debts can somehow look us in the eye adn tell us that they're the ones who are going to manage our economy??

The poor Cs. Maybe if enough kids sell their bikes and toys there will be a reconciliation of the debt H incurred by continuing to run after she had decisively lost.

It is too bad they did not have a way to track how many of us added to the 52 million after the concession speech who were not hill raising bundlers, but little folk just like you changing allegiance of our individually preferred candidate for the one left to represent the party. N nay of us are not different than many of you in that we are giving what we can in amounts that I guess don't count to Huffington. I wish they would have stated how much came in, for example, from the parties where tickets to go were in the thousands instead of merely putting a less than honest portrayel of what he has gotten from Hillary supporters. I made sure when I sent my check to let them know I was coming from the Hillary camp. I hope others did the same as all a headline like this does is to continue to inflame the Hillary haters here. They are both good people and some of us just differed with policy proposals and platforms. I don't see much difference between the more rabid supporters of either...that kind of idolization is not my cup of tea. I am far more interested in what gets done than by who is leading the effort. I have seen far too many rock stars types disappoint in the end to fall in love with any politician. My vote is an against vote now. And McCain absolutely must not be elected. Period!

Obama didn't make any effort to get his fundraisers to raise money to pay off her campaign debt, so why should she do anything for him? You saw all the Obamaniacs boo when Obama came back out on stage after forgetting why he was there to begin with. That weak plea for money to pay off Hill's debt had to piss Hillary and her supporters off. The boos were icing on the cake. I guarantee that a bunch of Hilliacs are voting McCain. ...a woman scorned.

Tell me, what incentive does Hillary have to support Obama? She sees him as an upstart snake oil salesman with no experience and no accomplishments who stole her best chance of being president. If he wins this year it's over for her. It's hard enough to for a man to run at 68 but a woman? No way in hell. They don't age as well as men. If I were her I would plaster that smile on my face and fake a few appearances and start sending some quiet signals to all my bitter female supporters to vote McCain. Without her supporters Obama loses. It's that simple. She's gotta backstab like she's never backstabbed before.

HRC only suspended her campaign she didn't end it, so technically she is still in the race. Since she is still in the race, don't expect me to donate one dime to pay down her debt. If I and others pay off her debt, she could continue her campaign and take her case to the convention. Not with my money is that going to happen. Why haven't her "18 million" fans donated just $1.25 each??? That would pay off her debt.

If she is still running it's her debt and she can eat it as far as I'm concerned. Conversely, since she is technically still in the race, I wouldn't expect her donors to support (financially) Obama since they still need to pay off her debt. Fine by me.. I just made another donation to Obama so I think he will be fine without the Hillraisers.

Obama's a wave.. ride the wave

Obama supporters donated $80,000 more to Hillary than her supporters donated to Obama. His efforts have been more effective than Hillary's.

There has been so much joy and confidence slipping through in these Obama posts that not even the whiners can bring you down. Hang in there because he is going to be the next president...with, or without the Pumice who are neurotic, home bored, and are getting passed by. Wave and go on to the party in November.

I'm not a hillary supporter. I'm a Republican. I just love it that obamaniacs and obama don't get it that they need hillary's supporters to win. It won't take all that many crossover hillary votes to bring down Obama in battleground states. Keep defecating on them and taking them for granted. Women love that.

Why is HuffPo still talking about this "unity" bull? I'm pretty sure the party has come together. Obama's leading in almost every poll out. Just because Hillary's richest friends don't support Obama doesn't mean the rest of the people who voted for her feel the same way. In fact, it's obvious that the majority of them are now voting for Barack Obama and that the only one still trying to make this a "story" is the media.

Sure the party is so unified that is why Senator Clinton met with 10,000 members of the National Association of Letter Carriers yesterday in Boston. That is why a supporter received the very nice e-mail from Don Fowler and Alice Germand. I am glad the DNC is ignoring this group, it isallowing them to grow larger.

I am so disappointed, but I believe this is entirely irreversible. And Hillary Clinton must take responsibility for it. She could have given a more stronger endorsement of Obama, or, at the very least, written a hard-hitting post excoriating these "Hill-raisers" for their childishness.

But let's take it back further...to February. Obama's victory was crystalized during that month. And Hillary knows it. See, while most of the public is all about "Hillary won this state" or Barack won this state", in the end, Obama had more "delegates". And when he won 11 straight contests over Clinton in February (after Super Tuesday), his delegate lead was insurmountable. Everyone knew it...including Hillary.

But she insisted on running a bare-knuckles, below the belt campaign against Obama where she stabbed his soul, and, paradoxically, praised the "commander-in-chief qualities" and experience of McCain - all to try and make Obama unelectable when the general election came around.

Clinton mocked Obama's ability to fill a stadium; dismissed his political achievements; and did a wink and a nod to racially irresponsible campaign tactics that ended up backfiring.

So its no suprise that her Hillraisers can't seem to let go. Really sad.

The "Hillraisers" have made themselves irrelevant. They belong as far from the levers of power and influence as possible, and that's where they will be for the next eight years.

Definite win/win for Barack he has shown he can do this without Hilary's fundraisers if he has to and imagine if he got them on board and 100% supporting him he could reach 60 million in a month
