While on a recent trip to Kruger National Park in South Africa, wildlife photographer Hal Brindley managed to capture film of a leopard attacking a crocodile. Click here to see the series of photos, or watch the slide show and video below.

Video:

The fight is reminiscent of a YouTube video that was popular last year, The Battle At Krugar, which was also filmed at Kruger National Park. That video --which features a fight between a herd of buffalo, two crocodiles, and a pride of lions-- can be seen below.

I guess if we are looking for metaphors.....

Always beware of the young and hungry sneaking up behind you.

Since the croc is dangerous both in water and land, the leopard is only good on land and not very good in water, pick your battleground carefully.

Never rest,, those who attack strike quickly.

As the croc seems to have survived, it ain't over till the body is cold.

Our instinctual interest and fascination with behaviors like this reside in us still, undiminsihed after all these millenium of evolutionary development and unlikely to leave us anytinme soon though we characteristically indulge in it with the modern surrogates of professional sports and politics, though I have to wonder whether watching battling animals or pugilistic politicians more civilized.

Nature can be brutal. Just this morning I watched a robin eat a worm.

"Leopard Attacks Crocodile"

Um...is this some sort of allegory for what Obama's doing to McCain in the press this week?

Fast, multi-colored, cool and smart savages dumb, green, crusty and mean.

My vote goes to the Leopard.

Cats also have big ears. As for smart..there has to be a easier meal than a croc. Thats one dumb leopard.

Dumb?? Not only does that "dumb" leopard have a few good meals in the short term, but it will have slightly less competition for food in the long term.

With your insightful and deep thinking, you must be a Rethuglican policy analyst or strategist, right?

The leopard might be doing it for a reason other than a meal - such as that it CAN. Killing the crock helps keep the watering hole safe - for cats AND their other prey...

notepad2, let me guess, you still believe in the trickle-down theory, that Saddam Hussein was behind 9-11, and that Barack Obama is a muslim.

Try educating yourself. It makes you so much more credible when you open your mouth.

Wow, both of you can obviously politicize anything (and seem to want to). Hey, this was just a pretty wild video. Leave it at that.

if you want to see a buffalo and a dim witted deer go at it, 1)bring up your favorite search engine 2) type in : "Rosie O'Donnell Elizabeth Hasselbeck Cat Fight Video" 3) view the results.
