NYT minimized the Iraq-Pakistan border as a slip that can happen to anyone. Go figure, Iran is a big country,where did it go? Maybe it got bomb out of existence in his mind already since this is what they are planning to do anyway.

If we blow Iran off the face of the map, Iraq and Pakistan will indeed share a border, and we cannot allow that to happen or the terrorists will win.

Matthew, technically, the "secret passage" goes to the north of Kuwait through the little piece of Iraq on the Persian Gulf, and not to the south of Kuwait through Saudi Arabia.

If Obama were making all of these mistakes, he would be lynched by the media. Do we all remember when Obama misspoke about the concentration camp that one of his great uncles (If I recall well) help liberate? How the Republicans jumped at the change to criticize him for not knowing that Auschwitz was actually liberated by the Soviet Union (the Republicans acknowledging History is priceless)? Obama was talking about the adjustments to normal life and the psychological stress that happens with war (this was the point).
And this man (McCain) gets a free pass. I just wish the elections were over because this is getting worse. It is scary that this man can win in November..

And yet, Bill O'Reilly twice made the egregious error of claiming the Malmedy Massacre was perpetrated by Americans, when in fact they were the victims. That was a far worse error than the one Obama made. I have come to the conclusion that Democrats will always be on the defensive until they can produce their own William F. Buckley, someone who can verbally outmaneuvre any opponent. This should be easy as conservatives have lost the ability to engage in rational discourse and have regressed to the "kindergarten tactics" of using spurious and specious arguments and ad hominem attacks.
Maps are complicated, and Republicans don't do nuance. Let's just pretend that all nations exist in a vacuum where they don't have any interconnections with each other, and let's base our foreign policy on this assumption. Iran is evil, Iraq is a success, Afghanistan is yesterday's news, Pakistan is our ally, Israel is the 51st state, and none of them have anything to do with any of the others.

If looking at maps is not good enough for teen beauty queens, then it is not good enough for the rest of us. (But seriously, maps are in COLOR to make them easier to read. It isn't an intellectual strain to look at a map).
