O'Reilly: Gore Going To Netroots Nation Like Going To "Klan Gathering"

On Saturday, former Vice President Al Gore made a surprise appearance at the Netroots Nation convention in Austin, TX. In his speech, Gore praised the gathering of progressives, saying that they are part of an effort to "reclaim the integrity of American democracy."

While the attendees of Netroots Nation received Gore with enthusiasm, his appearance has caused Fox News's Bill O'Reilly to declare that Gore has "gone off the deep end."

On his radio show today, O'Reilly claimed that Gore was now associating himself with the most "hateful group in the country." "And I'm including the Nazis and the Klan in here," said O'Reilly." He then claimed that attending Netroots Nation was "the same as if he stepped into the Klan gathering."

The Netroots convention is a powerful expression of political renewal and democratic awakening. Opinion FOX should be there to honor one of its sound bites, "we report and you decide". Bill's comments are typical of vocational dictators misusing democracy to destroy its pillars. He is subversive and dangerous to a free society. He uses hate speech to oppose America's movement for renewal and true patriotism.

Having never been to a klan meeting (or a netroots convention for that matter), I can't say for certain one way or another.

That said, if the netroots convention can be represented by this site's commenters I can say it probably is a pretty hateful and angry place.

Huffpo can't even keep a comment string open for a story about a consevative becoming ill or dying. Most every news item is followed by pages of hate filled venom about those who believe differently than they do. Those who choose a different religion than atheism are belittled. Anti semitism and racism abounds.

Based on what I know about Klan meetings, I can say there probably are similarities.

I've also come to the conclusion that most of the so called liberal hate filled comments are in all probability from conservative trolls who come here post the hate then run back and claim it is liberals making these hateful statements.

The first time I saw that happen the time lag between the so called liberal hate statement and the reporting on it was about 3 minutes which told me all I needed to know that it was planted by republicans and those who support them.

The truly hate filled sits are the neo con and republican support sites. I've been to a few and they make the worst days here look like a picnic in that park on July 4th. The vileness, the pure hatred, the call for death and maiming in beyond believ.
