Citizens United is promoting a new film: "Hype: The Obama Effect."

The movie, coming out in September, is described in a press release as "a full-length, feature documentary that goes beyond the media adulation surrounding Barack Obama's meteoric and unexamined rise to the national spotlight. The film features dozens of interviews and untold stories from the earliest beginnings of his political career in Chicago, to his brief stint as a U.S. Senator, through today."

"Hype" will be released in theaters in select markets across the country and offered for sale on DVD.

During the primary, Citizens United came out with "Hillary: The Movie" and fought to have its ads not count as political under the McCain-Feingold Act.

The Politico reports that the Obama film was rushed into production after events turned against Citizens United:

"We spent 18 months and millions of dollars making 'Hillary The Movie,'" laments David Bossie, head of Citizens United and a longtime Clinton tormentor. "We're incredibly proud, but the problem is the film has no relevance anymore."

So, they think people will pay to see 2 hours of Fox News on a big screen? Brilliant strategy!!

Wow, how awesome that John McCain helped make it possible for these people to spend so much money trying to make him president. A full length movie? Wow, they must be really scared. Excellent.

The local repubs can get together, have a barbie, sit around watching the movie and do a circle jerk. They gotta have something to do until November.

Add yourself and Citizens United to the list, Mr. Bossie

Rather than spend money on making this pile of crap, why don't they give the money to the poor?

REPUB are so afraid and confused that they are taking queues from HRC's "Throw the sink at Obama and see what sticks". Pathetic indeed.

What a waste of time. Not one single person's opinion will be changed.

The money would be better spent on AIDS research or to a soup kitchen.

Well, Tucker Carlson is in it - I'm sure it won't be biased.

"Big Government...certainly hasn't helped the people of my congregation." ?

This comment by the unidentified pastor is wrong on so many levels --

For one thing, uh, isn't the God he directs his congregation toward bigger and more powerful than any government?

Also, the religion he teaches claims that his congregation are obligated to give him 10% of their income... nice work if you can sleep at night!

Not to mention Dick Morris, who not only frequented hookers when on the White House - ie. taxpayer - payroll, but compromised presidential security to impress those hookers (uh, Dick, the whole concept of SEEING a hooker is that you DON'T have to bother impressing her...)

Isn't it funny that all they can do is attack BHO because there is nothing good to say about their own candidate. Rediculous

In other words, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Doesn't matter what "select markets" it's released in. Kentucky and West Virginia, for the most part, have already determined who they'll vote for so what does it matter. People who want to see it will get a copy.

I think it's cute how they claim they will bring out the "truth" about Obama.

And the preview is about how he's a taxing, big government liberal that the liberal media loves. Is this 1980? Haha.

And I love how they have two black guys. One of which doesn't think "big government" will help his congregation. Does going to war with Iran, allowing corperations to not answer for their actions help your congregation? I mean really. How about finding NON REPUBLICANS for the preview? Please.
