Ivanka Trump And Jared Kushner Back Together As Shiksa Now Open To Converting: Report

The relationship between New York Observer owner Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump is back on, according to the New York Post's Page Six.

In June, Kushner told Lloyd Grove that the couple was "still friends," but now that Ivanka has expressed an openness towards converting to Judaism (Kushner is Orthodox), they've begun dating again:

The handsome couple split in April after a year of dating. Some say Kushner, whose Jewish family is Orthodox, was catching flak for dating a shiksa. But the two have reconciled with the plan that if things get really serious, Ivanka will convert to Judaism before they marry. "It's a possibility, but that's way down the line," a friend of Ivanka told us. "For now, they're back together and very happy." Kushner, whose father made a pile in real estate before buying The New York Observer, made up for lost time by taking Ivanka to see "The Dark Knight" on Sunday.

Its hard to believe in this day and age that a woman would have to acquiesce to some kind of indoctrination into a belief system that means nothing to her in order to "qualify" to be married to a man or bear his children. Forget that.
When a man assumes he is in a position to alter another's belief system, he has already shown himself to be a controller, and they're not the best material for husbands.
Ivanka doesn't look like she will ever be desperate enough to engage in compromise.
Religion is about power and control, tradition or not.
Don't come to me with ideas about how your religion can control me too.

I never get it with Judaism. He can convert too if it means so much to them. That is so lame because all these religious people are anything but holy. Give us a break - that is a divorce waiting to hapen - if they marry

It's she who has to convert, so that their children will be halachically Jewish.

Children are not considered Jewish unless their mother is Jewish. It doesn't matter about the father.

It has nothing to do with being holy or better than anyone.
I am talking from experience - I am married to a non-jewish man and it was not easy dealing w/ my family about this, fortunately he didn't grow up w/ any religion so he never really had any prejudices about it - they have since done a 180 and love and adore him.

A parents concern in regards to this is will their child carry on the traditions and beliefs to their own children. A Jewish parent worries that this non-jewish person marrying their child doesn't understand what it is to be Jewish. Being Jewish is much more than a religion - it's a culture and a way of life. We are a VERY small minority and it's important to us as a group to carry on those traditions. It's not so cut and dry as to have him convert, or have them just raise their babies Jewish.
