Is John McCain frustrated, or maybe a little of jealous, of Obama's headline grabbing trip? Looks like all signs point to yes as Iraq's Prime Minister gives new confidence to Obama's withdrawal plan, Bloomberg News says "Middle Eastern and European leaders are lining up to hear what Barack Obama has to say," and General Petraeus gave photographers fresh photo-ops with the Democratic leader.

ABC Anchor George Stephanopoulos told Good Morning America Tuesday, "They are frustrated in the McCain camp." McCain and former President Bush tried to laugh-off being jealous during a news conference yesterday at the Bush compound in Maine.

Sen. John McCain and former President George H.W. Bush laughed off questions about the size and scale of Sen. Barack Obama's anticipated events in Europe, after the Democratic contender concludes a tour of the Middle East including Iraq and Afghanistan, but the truth wasn't far from the surface.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., laughed off concerns that he is "jealous" of the attention Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is getting on his world tour but the McCain camp is considering a "surprise" that may steal the spotlight from his rival.

"We're jealous is all," the former president told reporters on Monday outside the Bush family home in Maine.

CNN's Dana Bash details John McCain's plan to take take some of the spotlight off Obama while the nation's press corps follow him around half way across the world.

McCain is expected to slam Obama's position on Iraq ahead of a town hall in Rochester, New Hampshire, on Tuesday...

... Shrugging off the attention surrounding Obama's trip, the McCain campaign is doing what it can to keep their rival from using the trip to burnish his foreign policy credentials.

There are numerous reports that McCain might try to steal Obama's fire by announcing his VP pick this week.

McCain campaign sources confirm to CNN that there have been discussions high in the campaign about naming a running mate this week. They also say that, whether or not the announcement is made, the choices have been "narrowed" to the point where McCain could make a decision that soon.

I used the think people with the mentality and mindset of the trolls were just an invention of TV, but after being here for a few years, it's shocking to see such people actually exist.

I've come across politically stupid people before, people who take part in death squads to support their political party, but despite the extent of their support, they're honest enough to realise when their leader does shite, and they will then turn around and turn on that leader, but never in my ** years have I come across such a deluded set of people who are surrounded by so much darkness that if they close their eyes they would see better, yet they continue as if outside is as bright as day.

I would *really* love to do research on their minds to find out what makes then tick.

I saw a study (Univ. of Tenn?) a few years back that showed that the average African American had an IQ 14 points higher than the average Klan member.

It does apply to this forum, to some degree.

I've no doubt that 5 minutes of research will be adequate to reveal that the majority of the gnomes are simply smartazzes.

You can see the tr0lls mentality in the underlying poll numbers. Very few tr0lls are voting for McBush most of them are voting against 0bama. Most tr0lls are r igid thinkers that b end the facts to fit their d elusions. The reason tr0lls show so much h atred for 0bama is because they are projecting their subconscious h atred for the current neo con party. They know deep down that increasing deficits, increasing the size of government and m ilitary expansionism are not conservative values. Even the values voters are fooling themselves with all the Rethuglican sex and bribery scandals. L imbaugh for a brief moment let out his true thoughts after the 2006 election when he said he was tired of holding water for the Republicans.

I don't care if McCain announces his VP choice this week or not. Whoever it is, they are not going to steal Obama's thunder of his overseas trip. IF anything it my create more of a joke for McCain. Let's pray that he picks Lieberman, Graham or Gramm. Romney? That would be his best choice but I doubt McCain will make a good choice.

... ... ... here's my suggestion, if you really want to take all these attention away from Obama, nominate Harriet Myers as your running mate, and see what happens.

That's all they have. They don't seem to have the capacity to think for themselves, and so they have to invent things when challenged to support what they've been told.

That is when they bother to try to support their claims.

i guess their feeders realise they don't have the capacity to handle the talking points and the rebuttals, so they dish out the points and have them fend for themselves.

Pathetic, yet fun to watch.

I submit this with the friendliest intentions, believe me (from Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks 1974):

He rode a blazing saddle
He wore a shining star
His job to offer battle
To bad men near and far
He conquered fear and he conquered hate
He turned our night into day
He made his blazing saddle
A torch to light the way

When outlaws rule the West
And fear fills the land
A cry went up for a man with guts
To take the West in hand
They needed a man who was brave and true
With justice for all as his aim
Then out of the sun rode a man with a gun
And Bart was his name, yes
Bart was his name.

That's what I'm REALLY loving about this--the McCain campaign was the one that kept insisting Obama needed to visit the troops abroad. But McCain somehow thought Obama would only do it in McCain's company (the initial dare was, I believe, that they should travel together? Why the hell would Obama tie himself down that way, or help McCain get the publicity?)

Go 'Bama!

Republicans like to scream about islamofascism as if that is somehow the standard modus operandi of middle eastern leaders. In fact, it tends more toward realpolitik. McCain has got to be sweating bullets when he sees these middle eastern leaders falling all over themselves to lineup behind Obama. It could be taken as a signal that the major players of the region are betting their money that Obama will be the next president, so they are getting an early start on building their relationship with him.

By the by--most of the rest of the world, especially the middle east, is use to dealing with black heads of state. What a shame that it's such an issue for us.
