Natalie Portman has a new role - Bollywood princess. The actress stars in her folk-singing boyfriend's newest video "Carmensita," playing a princess whom he must save. She dances and she lip syncs in the Bollywood spoof, but only time will tell if she helps his career by doing so. Also no word if the top of his pubic hair 30 seconds in will aid in his path to fame.

She's still gorgeous as an octopus.

So what do folks in India think of this spoof of Bollywood musicals?

It's amazing to me reading criticisms of Devendra's music by people who clearly aren't in his target audience. I think he's amazing. So happy, enthusiastic and childlike, with a unique voice that belongs only to him. If this song at all interested you, check out his 2005 album 'Cripple Crow.'

regardless of his music, he's not cool enough for natalie portman... she should be with someone more awesome... like me :)

I thought the visuals were interesting, but didn't care for the music. The went to a lot of effort to make this look crappy...and believe it or not, the attention to detail they show is quite good.

Perhaps he should do a remake of Plan 9, and stay out of the music biz.

That was funny. I enjoyed it.

Other than that, it was pretty stupid. He's a good looking boy though.

He is indeed. I soo miss that '60s - ''70s style. These guys with the short, buzzcut, or bald heads gag me.

Devendra's music is pretty bad. It's almost a parody of hippie music, and some think Devendra might actually be making fun of it. It still is horrible.

Do yourself a favor. Listen to Donovan, Steeleye Span, and T-Rex for the real thing.

Natalie can do much better. Devendra is nothing but a hipster pretending to be a deep musician.

"Hippie music"? What are you talking about? This is a parody of Indian music/Bollywood films. Hello?

I'm talking about Devendra's music in general. He's done other things than this video.

What the f**k has happened to popular music, anyway?

This is total cr*p. What's interesting about a spoof of bad Indian movie music? Would anyone bother listening to this if it were just a song on the radio, without benefit of the celebrity girlfriend video guest shot?

I think not. Look for Devendra (or whatever his silly name is) behind the counter of your local fast food joint within a year or so. This is about what his talent merits.

If you don't get the joke, then don't ask. Bet you didn't understand the New Yorker cover, either.

Appearing in your romantic partner's video is the kiss of death for a celebrity relationship.

This video will prove conclusively that Natalie Portman will have a better time dating ME.
