Mccain Ad

Two new ads from John McCain's campaign — one of which the campaign says will make it on air — show what they call the media's "love affair" with Barack Obama. The ads feature news personalities — including Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, and Howie Kurtz — discussing Obama-mania in the media, highlight now-infamous statements from the likes of MSNBC's Chris Matthews and NBC's Lee Cowan, and even bring back some Hillary Clinton supporters' statements of media bias towards Obama.

The campaign is currently featuring both videos on its website and asking users to vote to see which one makes it to air. Watch them both below (the only discernible difference is song choice, with the "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" version currently leading the "My Eyes Adored You" version by a considerable margin).

"Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" version:

"My Eyes Adored You" version:

McCain and the rest of Republicans believers in a capitalist society. Since they are so fond of this capitalist system, then should know that they must earn the the attention of the media like everyone else. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and accomplish what you desire. Neither McCain nor the RNC has done anything to cause the majority of Americans to want to follow McCain's campaign. Just like anyone in business, you have to give people a reason to be interested in your product. McCain is the Republican's product and no one is interested in this product. So how can you force someone to buy your product in a capitalist society. You see, you Republicans want a socialist system when it's convenient (since it's obvious you want a socialist media right now).

McCain should be grateful for the lack of coverage, if the media treated McCain's gaffes like they did Obama's, he'd be in for a whole world of hurt.
-Reverend Wright lasted weeks if not months for Obama, but Phil Gramm's comments lasted a few days.
-No mention of McCain referring to nations that no longer exist,
-No mention of McCain mentioning a Iraq/Pakistan border that does not exist
-No mention of McCain's ties to Iranian spy Chalabi
-No critical coverage of his gas tax holiday

People in media have begun to see Obama as the American people have come to view him as someone authentic, honest, and ethically and morally sound unlike McCain. They see him as the real deal. He is the only person who can help heal this country and come Nov Americans are going vote for Obama to be the next POTUS.

YES, IT MUST BE SAID THE MEDIA IN GENERAL, ESPECIALLY MSNBC, CNN AND NBC, ARE IN THE TANK WITH OBAMA. HAPPILY, FOX NEWS, IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT, IS STILL OBJECTIVE. I RESERVE MY JUDGEMENT ON BALANCED. CLEARLY, THE THREE NETWORKS NOTED ABOVE HAVE FAILED THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. IN SHORT, LIKE OBAMA, CLARITY CEASES TO BE A VIRTUE FOR MUCH OF THE MEDIA.

What here would make me NOT vote for Barack Obama? People love him, classic pop music playing in the background; what am I missing?

McCain wants his butt kissed, not coverage. McCain has been leveraging his "war hero" status forever and been trying to cash in on it longer. It has lost its luster. What's to report. How many times can it be said before everyone just gets tired of it. As your buddy Graham would say, stop whining.

I enjoyed hearing the music--two "golden oldies". The ads are "sour grapes".

I don't think there is any question about it. However, I am not sure what this ad is supposed to accomplish.

McCain's people are eating their heart out with jealousy. Everyone knew going into the campaign it was going to be an uphill slog with an inglorious defeat at the end. They should manup and behave like mensches rather than further tarnish the Republican brand. They should face reality and view the campaign as a chance to rebrand the party, but the wingnuts will most likely hold sway and they will dip into their racist bag of tricks and cover themselves with slime again. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

If McCain was really a man of honor he'd blow off the evangelical conservatives . His staff should let McCain be McCain. I guarantee you he'd do better at the polls. He's just not smart enough to figure it out.
