McCain Explains His Repeated Czechoslovakia Gaffes (VIDEO)

McCain said "Czechoslovakia" instead of the "Czech Republic" at another town hall today. But this time, he caught himself and offered a bit of self-mocking explanation. That makes it the third time in the past three weeks.

"As you know, the Czech Republic and Slovakia split years ago," McCain said with a chuckle. "From time to time some of us misstate and say Czechoslovakia when the fact is, it's the Czech Republic."

"Some of us" could refer to retired senator (and Barack Obama supporter) Sam Nunn, who helpfully made the same gaffe a few days after McCain. But unless Obama picks Nunn for VP, McCain is still alone among office-seekers on this one. Watch the video:

Heh, heh, heh, I mean all us REALLY old people call the countries of the Czech Republic and Slovakia by their old name of Czechoslovakia, but it really doesn't matter. The people there suffered and worked hard for their independence, but you can't expect a president of the United States to keep up with political protocols like calling allied countries by their proper names, Heh, Heh, Heh. If he was running from the President of Sunny Sunset Retirement Community activities board, no he doesn't .But since he is running for the highest office in the land ie: the President of the United States and Commander and Chief. Then he touts himself as being the more experienced in foreign affairs and all things foreign, yes he should know these things. Because if you want him to run as the cranky old man down the street, who doesn't that Czechsolvakia no long exist, also he should know that Iraq and Afghanistan don't share a border.The­y are seperated by Iran, unless he want to remove Iran for the map , hints the smoke and Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran little ditty....U­mmm think about it ?

What gaffes? He's playing to the Bubba base that couldn't care less about one state over much less another country or continent. He learned it from Bush. You know, like that faux Texas accent W has when his brother Jeb does not..... hmmm. And don't look for Bush to do much wood choppin or brush clearin in his post WH days. No more need to blow smoke up Bubba's clueless butt and make like a Reagan clone. Anyway, Laura wants to live in Dallas and not at the beautiful ranch…. what a surprise. McCain just needs to branch out a bit more with the gimmick. Maybe a remake of Bedtime for Bonzo.

I asked some republican friends if they were going to vote for McCain, and the answer was, "What choice do we have"? What choice? How about a brilliant young Senator from Illinois who is trying his damnedest to restore our country and our country's relations around the world, and bring home the men a women in the military that were sent to occupy a sovereign nation? How about that choice. I hate party line voters, it really makes me sick, that they don't even consider the other side.
