Army Times Alarm: McCain Suggests Rationing Vets Health Care

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain appeared Tuesday to suggest rationing of veterans' health care may be needed so combat veterans can receive the care they deserve.

At a town hall meeting in Dover, N.H., McCain talked about the need to "concentrate" veterans' health care on people with injuries that "are a direct result of combat."

"Right now, there are people who drive a long way and they stand in line to stand in line to get an appointment to get an appointment," McCain said.

McCain's campaign press office did not return a telephone call asking for clarification of the remarks.

Helonias, there is NOTHING remotely Christian in that. A true Christian would not want disabled veterans to go without the benefits that are (currently) promised to them. A true Christian would be interested in making sure those guys and dolls were helped and helped sufficiently.

Differing definitions of the phrase "Support the Troops":

1) Give them what they need to fight the war while they're their and give them what they need to recover and rebuild their lives when they get home. Treat them with respect even if you disagree with the politicians who sent them to war.

2) Accuse people who disagree with the Bush administration of not supporting the troops, fail to provide proper equipment, cut veterans benefits.

Got news for you. When my husband who was a sergeant on active duty he went to the dentist and checked in waiting to be called. A general came in half hr later and he walked right in before my husband. So it been going on a long time.
