BIll O'Reilly: "MoveOn Is The New Klan" (VIDEO)

MoveOn.org is a web-based progressive political organization and the latest target of Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points segment. During the segment the conservative talk show host accused MoveOn of promoting racism, before drawing comparisons between the organization and "the Klan."

Previously, MoveOn had made a similar accusation against FOX (with less severe comparisons) on their FOX: Stop The Smears page.

The KKK was formed in the period of 1866-1876 in the South by the Democratic party to stop the spread of Republicans. A KKK member, Robert Byrd is a Democratic congress member.

Hugo Black an avowed KKK member was appointed by Roosevelt to the supreme court. Want more examples ?. The KKK membership declined dramatically after the 1920s.

The original KKK started right after the Civil War. It did indeed support the Democratic (ie Southern) party against the Republican (ie Northern) party as a reaction against reconstruction.

There was a resurgence of the Klan (sometimes called the Second Klan) that started around 1915. This was a reaction to both the black migration northward and to the influx of immigrants from southern Europe. This instance of the Klan was very strong in the Midwest and was also very anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic.

The guy really doesn't even know what moveon does.

People sign up and put their name on petitions mailed out to them. Or people don't. They sometimes have contests to see which member can make the best ad, and they raise funds in order to show that ad in some battleground states. They sometimes have bake sales, sometimes get together and talk about "liberal stuff".

It's like a Democrat's club, that's about all it is. Frickin O'Reilly just says that crap to rally the ignorant Fox News viewers who would rather be told what to think rather than figure it out for themselves by checking multiple sources.

That's incorrect. She didn't use the word "because". She said she was a good rep of the US and noted her blond hair and blue eyes. Those physical attributes are apparently coveted qualities, which has been proven through evolution and natural selection. Why pretend they are not? Liberals always say they believe in evolution. Basically, the people attracted to what he peddles are lazy, stupid, selfish bullies who need some bs to fill their superiority complex.

He takes advantage of the universal human characteristics twisted in the particularly obtuse to make them:

1) absolutely love to create a false "other" in order to define themselves so they can feel like they're fighting the good fight, preserving freedom, cementing victory, or in some other manner accomplishing greatness without actually doing or thinking anything.

2) prefer what makes them feel comfortably superior, and the easiest way to get that feeling is to be a bully (or root for one). Then feed into their inner conviction that everybody else is the problem, they deserve more than to have to share with or suffer because of some inferior so-and-so's, letting themfeed into their willing self-delusions by degrading and berating those who are different because fearmongering is just easier than getting to know those who "aren't like us".

3) slaves to cognitive dissonance. He doesn't demand that they change their disgusting and bigoted worldviews. Thus, everybody else is wrong and they're the victim and so on and so forth in an endless cycle of hate and combative us-them mentality that makes them perfect little delusional and self-destructive crusaders on his behalf.

4) Lazy. Honestly, they're consumers who don't want to have to think, so they take in his words as manna and deify ignorance and hate.

MoveOn is fighting racism by calling attention to O'Reilly's use of it. O'Reilly does not understand the distinction. He uses the Rove strategy of lambasting critics with whatever they label him as. As the Bush administration sinks into oblivion and is generally looked at with disdain and distrust, O'Reilly and Fox reach new lows and caricature themselves almost daily. Someday all the dirt he throws at others without merit will come back to bring him down. Then many of us will laugh and cheer.

Fox reinforces the incorrect perceptions of their poorly informed viewership. For example, I bet most Fox viewers think our military campaign in Afghanistan is going well, like O'reilly has said many times.
