Yesterday, John McCain released a series of ads complaining about the media's fawning coverage of Barack Obama. His campaign mocked the huge group of reporters trailing Obama by handing out press credentials that say "McCain Press Corps JV Squad, 'Left Behind To Report In America.'" On the other side, the same words are in French under a wine-drinking, beret-wearing European.

As the Huffington Post's Jason Linkins notes, media-bashing is an odd line of attack from the man who once courted the press as his "base."

And indeed, McCain couldn't stay mad at the press for long. The Politico reports:

Trying to avoid being portrayed as a whiney spoilsport, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) broke with his advisers Tuesday and told Katie Couric of CBS News that news coverage of the presidential campaign has been fair and even "fun to watch."

...

Asked whether he believes he'd had unfair media coverage, McCain replied: "I don't think so. I think ...it is what it is. I'm a big boy. And I'm enjoying every minute of the campaigning. And I'm certainly not complaining. And, in fact, I think it's fun to watch."

So much for message discipline.

Hello Everyone;
Not only this subject is not funny in fact it is quiet sad, as Mr. McCain is a viable presidential candidate and his ever present political gaffe should be of no laughing matter. Since we're all in a jovial mood I've decided to include a joke. I find this joke funnier and way less threat to humor in general. I must add this disclaimer; "only non-sober people will vote for Johny!" so please nation it is time to sober up!!!!

Irish Thoughts on Our Election

An message from Ireland to all of their brethren in the States...a point to ponder despite your political affiliation:

We, in Ireland, can't figure out why you people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States.

On one side, you had a pants-wearing female lawyer, married to another lawyer who can't seem to keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer, who goes to the wrong church, who is married to yet another lawyer, who doesn't even like the country her husband wants to run!

Now...On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate 'Mc' terminology, married to a good looking younger woman who owns a beer distributorship !!

What in God's name are ya lads thinkin over in the colonies!

McCain advisors are jealous of the media attention Obama is getting. I would like a count of the number of times McCain and Obama each has appeared on Daily Show, SNL, Jay Leno, Lettermen, Larry King Live, etc. Compare the numbers.

If everyone accepted that there was not military solution to Iraq, then it is ludicrous to promote the delusion that the escalation/sure is the reason Iraq is fairly peaceful right now.

For it is the extra troops that is solely responsible for the present situation in Iraq, then what will happen when the American troops leave? It would be chaos if it is only the troops escalation/surge keeping things relatively calm.

The wise and diplomatic thing to do is to CREDIT THE IRAQIS! This will encourage the Iraqis to maintain calm in THEIR COUNTRY as the American troops leave.

There is a confluence of events that can be credited for the present conditions in Iraq, not the escalation/surge alone!

US should seize the moment to exit the UNPROVOKED bush war; because the continued occupation WILL inflame Iraqis and other muslims!

McCain should be insisting on taking credit for starting the UNPROVOKED Iraq bush war, which is the real issue for everyone who wants to move on!

After yesterday's cover up via CBS, McCain can't be mad at the press anymore. that would be biting the hand that covers up your gaffes and flip-flops. He wants more coverage as long as it's glowing and glosses over the facts. Must be nice.

If McCain thinks the media's being fair, then why did his campaign release ads only yesterday stating otherwise? Are these the management skills he'd bring to the presidency? Get your house in order.
