Photos: McCain's Week Of Horrible Images

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The images from Barack Obama's trip abroad have been, one might say, picture perfect. From the stern shot of Obama with Gen. David Petraeus to the somber photos from Israel's Holocaust Museum, one guesses that Obama's campaign couldn't be more pleased.

As for John McCain -- well, that's another story:

MONDAY

McCain in a golf cart with George H. W. Bush at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport, Maine:

TUESDAY

As oil companies announce their massive quarterly profits, McCain makes a campaign stop at Buxton Oil Inc.:

WEDNESDAY

McCain takes questions from reporters about a range of domestic and foreign policy issues -- in front of an aisle of cheese:

Then, via Jed Report, McCain holds an event in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and 900 of the 1600 seats in the auditorium remain empty:

I await with much pleasure the many Dukakis moments Grampa will provide us with before he goes out to pasture in December.

The images weren' t the most damaging part of his campaign, it's all the facts he "misinterpreted", "misspoke", or "misunderstood". How can we stomach a President of the United States of America, who does not know, or understand, or does not check his facts before he speaks, AGAIN. Did we not have one like this the last eight , long , devastating years already?

mccaino looks older than busho.
I think the desired effect was the opposite.

old, just plain and simple.

The Clinton campaign made the same mistakes underestimating Obama. Come November 5th, John McCain will be another footnote to history.

Will somebody explain to me how it is possible for McCain and Obama to be running neck and neck in the polls? 76%-80% think country going in wron direction- fact. 95% of African Americans voting for Obama - fact. Huffpo states 66% of Hispanics voting for Obama- fact. Chuck Todd said roughly 40 something% of Whites voting for Obama -fact.

Will you explain it to me like I was a five year old? Cause this does NOT add up to truth!

I think the GOP- Corp owned media is creating the news, polls, and proposed outcome of this election. Obama could be Jesus himself and the MSM will support the GOP candidate no matter who it is. McCain is the worst political puppet ever. The contrast between the candidates could not be any more clear. Yet they are tied. McCain can barely remember his own talking points, calls wife C-word, 3rd Bush term, Hiding his health problems, Gaffes daily - Obama eloquent, respects women, few gaffes, very statesman like. WE HAVE A TIE!

I am reading many of these comments with dismay. I feel that PuppaX has it right. To see what McCain is doing versus what he was eight years ago is depressing. But a scintilla of respect is called for. Those of you making fun of George Bush and John McCain in the golf cart photo need to be mindful of the sacrifices these men made for their country, and respectful of their age.
Bush left a privileged, cushy life at Yale and enlisted (not drafted) at 19 during WW II. He flew combat missions and was shot down over Chichi Jima, nearly losing his life. McCain's story is well known and he has two sons in the military, one an Iraq vet and one in the Naval Academy. For this, they deserve respect for the lives they lead and the sacrifices they made, if not for their policies and politics.
If we do not have more civility in our politics then we have precious little chance of reaching a workable consensus on the solutions to our problems. McCain will lose in November; Obama will be the next president. Lets not be sore winners.

I might have more respect for them if they weren't extracting paybacks for their sacifices out of our hides.
As it is they support policies that are not beneficial to the country and the vast majority of the American citizens.
They only look out for their "base" and the corporate interests.

Republican policies have done much damage. McCain and Bush do not have carte blanche to do this. I don't give a damn what they have done.

Notice how the sign on the cart says:

Are his employees working for him or against him? The visuals boggle the mind. Let us not forget the putrid green background the night of Obama's acceptance speech that made him look like a big blob of lime jello!!

I'm not a McCain supporter, but I can't help but feel for the guy. I don't know if his intentions are real, or backed by a hunger for power, but if they're real and he really wants to do good for the people, it's just sad how much he looks like an amateur at this. And they say Obama is the inexperienced one? Whatever the polls might say, it's evident who is making the biggest impact.

This is easy. No, his intentions are not real, but simply backed by a hunger for power.

He's been successful so far because he's made the lobbyists happy and they've propped him up. That, plus the fact that the voters in Arizona just may not be the most well-informed or well-intentioned bunch. Add to that the fact that the GOP has worked hard to suppress voter turnouts (most successfully in Southwestern states like AZ) so it's easier to elect one of their corporate puppets and you have the explanation of how Senator McCain has gotten this far.

It's neither. He promised Cindy he'd make her the First Lady if she would marry him, even though he was nearly 25 years older than she was. Well Cindy's biological clock and Johnny's hourglass are getting close to the end, so in those immortal words sung by "The King" Elvis Aaron Presley..."It's now or never...".
